Are you going in through this new link http://www.rpra.org/Home/tabid/53/Default.aspx
  3. Yes Sammy they are on darkness and I've learn through experience that young cocks cant handle racing to the nest as well as hens can. On darkness they mature in the body but not in the mind, as you say sending a laddie to do a mans job. So the way I race my darkness team is to send the cocks to the first 2 or 3 races for the experience then let them pair up and race the hens to eggs.
  4. Thats why my laddies were only sent to 3 races but the girlies went all the way like a good girlie should
  5. I put mine on darkness this Tuesday just gone and will take them off early June. I have babies in the nest still and they will go straight on the darkness.
  6. With regards to the pigeons use easy-bed on the floor, boxes/perches at a manageable height and get the pigeons as tame as you can. As for the pain its a matter of keeping that thought in your head that it will go.
  7. That's a hard one to call Sammy. To look at your question another way do we deprive our pets that are kept indoors of natural sunlight/sunset? Has it done them any harm? As for any detrimental affects on their racing ability last year I had 2 y/bird teams, one darkness the other left natural. I decided to do this to see if there was any difference as to how they race as oldbirds. The quality or as some would say the lack of ;D is the same so I'll draw my conclusions after racing them this year.

lol Joe will think your an imposter of El Scousio cheering on the blues. :o ;D ;D
  9. I use tobacco stalks. Tip from an old fancier that uses straw. He keeps his dogends & breaks them up and puts the tobacco in their nests, keeps the creepy-crawly's out.

    LOST PLEASE LOOK

When the wind lies in the east, 'Tis neither good for man nor beast; When the wind lies in the north, The skilful fisher goes not forth; When the wind lies in the south, It blows the bait in fishes' mouths; When the wind lies in the west, Then 'tis at the very best. Goes for training pigeons as well?
