Boxes are only necessary if you want to pair a specific cock to a specific hen. What are you been feeding them on at present? If 09 pigeons what month were they bred? Have you had the cocks and hens split up from each other?

You should always be looking to improve upon what you have, doesn't matter how far up the ladder you are.

I'd leave them to moult naturally, give them a couple of races just for the experience of mixing with other pigeons overnight and being mass libbed.

How coefficients work. A formula is used to give the birds a coefficient number, this is formulated by multiplying the position taken in the race by 1,000, this is then divided by the number of birds competing in the race. Example; 3rd place in a race with 3978 birds competing is worked out as follows; 3 X 1,000 = 3,000 , divided by the birds in the race 3,978 = .754. This pigeon would have a coefficient of .754 for that one race. Each coefficient for each qualifying race is then added together to give an overall figure.

Is that the mix with red maize in? if so and your pigeons haven't been fed red maize before incorporate it into your feed now to get them use to it.
