I will give you £100 for the lot and take a chance!
-
yes it is indeed, a good bloke Richard
-
Totally agree with that John, you can always buy pigeons but its rare you can buy the man that knows how to get then to tick
-
Yes very enjoyable indeed, even though I finished last of the 3 people I was having a side bet with hahahaha. Bet I wont hear the last of this for a long time! Welldone for your hard work WEBMASTER and hope you run it again next year so I can try and get my money back lol

I know they do, I'm only a stones throw away in Hereford and a lot of the beans and peas from my local farm head down that way
-
No worries John! I read it back after what you put and it did seem a little that way inclined so just put it into context. Funny thing is when I collected the pigeons I was actually offered more than I had paid for them before they had even been put in my basket so they couldnt have been bad, I just cant fly the things. Horses for courses I guess and to me they seem they need to be "molly coddled". I dare say that some will not like that comment but thats how I see them. I dont mind spending hundreds and often have on a Van Reet, but wouldnt ever pay another penny for a Braspenning but others do very well with them and good luck to them I say.
-
I hope not even though i dont feed beans! That will put the demand and no doubt the price of peas up!

I have just called the reddings and they ar'nt sending out emails they are doing it by letter, most of which have been sent out now so I'm told.

No1,They were never advertised or offered forsale. No2, I never tried to sell them. So how did this come about? Hes a Janssen fanatic and kept on and on about buying them, he knew all about them dont worry. I'm not a con artist if thats what you are insinuating, Do you never have a deal with a friend as way of a bit of fun more than anything else? He just thinks he knows better than me, he says they are too closely related and needs to be crossed into his janssen pigeons, wether it was a good idea to sell him them (for a whole lot less than I paid for them by the way, and he named the price as we have often done together as neither of us are beggars or scroungers) remains to be seen as if there is anything to be had out of them this guy will get it and good luck to him I say. He was also given the remaining youngster and the promise that if any of the remaining 3 return home he will have them also (his idea), so I hope this puts your mind a rest Johnny11 as all parties are happy about the deal even though I lost a wad load of money. Oh I must add the youngsters were getting the odd top 10 position but just weren't my cup of tea. I will stick to the Van Reets they are more durable by far.

Last year I bought 6, sent a cheque to the reddings and went to fetch them a few days after. The 4 Van Reets I bought all bred card winners this year, 2 being paired together the others paired to other Van Reets I have. The pair of Braspennings I got however were c**p and was pleased when a friend of mine bought the pair off me, Bred 4 off them and only had 1 left at the end and that walked home more than once lol. This year I have bought 1 Van Reet so fingers crossed it will be in keeping with all the other Van Reets I have. Good luck to you all that have purchased pigeons, especially the person who bought lot43, I would have sold you my wife for way less than that!

Top job that! Congratulations to you

My old lofts wouldnt hold the weight to start with, id have to dig me birds out the rubble to take um training lol

Sunny in Hereford at the moment but very dark threatening clouds all around, wind is only just short of gale force at times from the west. There is heavy low cloud and was pouring with rain in Frome within the last hour, so not looking good for anyone flying up this side

Your right rose that is an excelent idea, we seem to know what the weather is doing better than the people controling the events, so there should be a site where all race controlers have to go on race days which people all over the country can post reports of the conditions and also the controlers could be in better contact about lib times to help prevent clashing. not too hard to do in this modern age, but even if that becomes the thing in future then the "cowboy" convoyers want outing thats for sure, as some of their acts just this weekend alone are nothing short of barbaric

Have a nice time ALF, if you spend too much you can now sue tammy look ^^^ hahaha

Its about time all this convoyer lot was looked into, our Fed has a guy doing the job that by his own admission knows nothing at all about pigeons and by what i can read here he isnt the only one. The people that liberated from Frome at 1.30 really need prosecuting under the cruelty to animals act, as that cant be classed as anything less. Only last week a friend of mine that lives near Frome went down to the lib site to video the liberation of our fed, unfortunatly i gave her the old lib site of the show field, which we have now discovered has been moved to the army camp.(been out of the racing game since 2000 and it shows lol) On trying to find the new site found herself following our fed lorry along the main A361, so just to prove to me she had been looking, took a picture on her mobile phone. This weekend she is up here in Hereford visiting and came to the club with myself and my son, when the convoyer turned up and the crates were being loaded we told him of this and showed him the picture and asked where they are liberated from now, so in future she will be able to do john (my son) a video of the liberation, on seeing the picture he laughed and said "if you had pointed that bl**dy thing up there", pointing to the sky said, " you would have seen the silly little buggers still flying round", now the pic was taken at 8.38 am and the lib was at 7.45, now we had a poor race, returns were good but very slow and spaced out. pics of the cloud cover at the time prove that it wasnt really very good for a lib and an hour or two's patience would have seen an excelent job done, it just seems to me that this chap and many others just want to pick up the money and run, which when the job involves the welfare of living creatures to me is just not on! I think it would be better to pay an extra pound or two a week to get a better job done as there are 22 races in our program and feel it would be cheaper to do that rather than risk throwing away birds that are individually worth more than the extra cost that would involve for the whole season. Honestly i cant believe the amatures that are at the very heart of this game now, its beyond sad, its pure madness!
