  2. Here Here! Hurry up and apply for the job I say, Lets move with the times for a change.
  3. The Secret of Speed, The Big Racing Pigeon Book, and Fit to Win are a good read,
  4. 50 for me, 30 for my lad to fly the other 20 will be on birds to be sold from my stock birds. I always ring on the right leg with the ring up the right way when the bird is standing. I'm often told up the club I do it all backwards so its nice to know I'm not the only one!
  5. A good thing if you ask me, the welfare of whatever animal should always come first, far too many "blind eyes" are turned so maybe this will make a difference. Poultry sales should be more tightly controled, I have seen for myself lots of cruelty at market auctions. After all is said and done their life is as sweet as our own, or should be!
  6. I think they are up dating it. said something about it in the "View from the Reddings" in last weeks homing world
  7. Ransom do you not have any yellow or nut brown eyes in your birds? Just curious to know and wonder if you have what value you place on them? All very interesting this to pass a winter evening but it is a bit like fortune telling really, you can always read something into whats written. The challenge would be to select a pairs of birds from unrung "streeters" that produce champions, then I would be interested! What would you "Eyesign men make of a pigeon with odd eyes, by that I mean a yellow eye one side and the other a dark violet and I mean dark violet not a bull eye?
  8. Is Cotswold Feeds any good to you, They are based in Cheltenham I believe and also do a delivery service. 01242 602877.
  9. Shadow, your obviously a good pigeon man, will you be taking up the challenge of racing in the USA? I think its such a shame when someone with the tallent for doing the job right packs in, maybe you will find someone to help and advise, even if its through this forum. All the best to you in your new adventure and I hope it all goes well for you.

  18. Adios and dont put that cat out, let it burn lol
  19. Ordered a 26' "L" shape from Blakes to my design with all ply and no compressed wood and is costing £2,200 delivered and erected thats also including 28 widowhood boxes and 30 box perches. They do state 3-4 weeks delivery but thats actually about 6 weeks it seems at the moment.
  20. I pay £26 a bag (25kg) and it lasts a long time. I have to say its money well spent too, I have 58 birds in a small shed and aviary while a new loft is being built and even though they are over crowded there have been no problems what so ever health wise. A friend of mine used lime in his loft and when in there it did have a tightening effect on my chest so how the poor birds stuck it I will never know but doubt it did them much good
  21. Its pink in colour and very good too! I would recommend it to anyone, I just wondered how widely it was used in the pigeon game and seems I'm in the minority. Its ideal if your busy and cant spend time cleaning out for a week or two, just give it all a good dusting a couple of times a week and all will be well with the birds. No health problems and keeps it all drier and easier to clean out.
  22. Hey Linda! What a lovely pair you have there, do you think I can handle them sometime? ;D ;D ;D ;D
