  1. Well some of you might remember me, some might rather forget me and by the looks of the new names here now, most will just think who the heck is that! Its been a long time since I was last able to get on line, last time was the 22nd of December 06 when a serious fire destroyed our Family home and just about everything we had, I am only on here now thanks to the generosity of the members of Pigeon Basics to which I am very greatfull and I want to say a very BIG THANK YOU to each and every one of you. Believe me when I say for a long time life didn't seem worth living and has been more of a struggle than I care to go into but the act of kindness shown me by you all has done a lot for moral, has certainly gone a long way to renew my faith in human kindness and one of the good things I for one will never forget till the day I die. Once again I Thank you all for the kindness you have shown me and hey! Its good to be back!!
  2. Id swap half a dozen of my Staf Van Reets for half a dozen of your Serg Van Elsacker's if your interested. My birds are a winning family also, was higest prize winner 3 yrs on the trot before packing up racing (young and old birds)and during my time breeding have helped several people to the top in their clubs, so if your interested in a swap then let me know and we can chat more about it. Mark.
  3. Thank you Clockman and Alf your too kind. Pitty there wasnt more entries as I was looking forward to a few different types to look at.
  4. well
  5. I fully agree with you schyphos, Ive just had a chat with Coxy on messenger and hes been more than man enough to apologise to everyone so cut him a bit of slack and let the past lie where it is, in the past and all start afresh. To let it carry on will only spoil the site and that really would be a crying shame for everyone here.
  6. Have a great day Rose all the very best to you
  7. Happy Crimbo Paul and all members and Moderators of Pigeon Basics! Here's to loads of drunken snogs under the mistletoe and a fantastic New Year to be had by everyone!
  8. Thank you Rory The Red, No12 is mine hahaha. I'm glad someone liked the look of him though, he was a very good youngster on the road and should have won but for a poor trap on the day, beaten into second place by 2yds. Was always there or there abouts week in week out.
  9. Try contacting these people, Sinderins Sheiron House, Memus Forfar, Angus DD8 3TY. You can get a model that switches between fluorescent tubes which cant be dimmed but are cheap to run for long periods to ordinary light bulbs for the dimming down bit. I have one from years ago when I used to keep Budgerigars and found it to be an excelent item.
  10. To get a Divorce and be 15st ;D. On a pigeon note I will be hoping my son keeps up all his hard work and dedication with the birds and I hope to help someone else win and win well as there is more pleasure in doing that than doing it myself thesedays
  11. Carlsberg dont breed Pigeons, but if they did!
  12. Im not so fussy Jeremy I will be happy if you tie a piece of elastic to mines leg so it dont get lost off the top lol
  13. TISWAS rocks lol ;D ;D ;D ;D
  14. Well I think I have to agree with Wiley's disapointment and paolo's comment as if its advertised as a book and is infact a Pamphlet then that is surely contrary to Trading Standards and the description of sale needs ammending so all prospective purchasers know exactly what they are getting for their hard earned money. Dont see where anyone knocked Mr Halsteads abilities of flying a pigeon though as that would be ludicrous at best!
  15. Hjaltland I'd like to say what a super pigeon you got there. From the first time I looked at them I thought that would have won
  16. Already sent an entry in for my friend, son and myself and have been ask by my club secretary if I would breed a bird for a club syndicate they are doing. We did enter the first year but had no luck and missed out as it was all booked up last year before we got round to it, so if your having a go then dont delay is my advice! As for the management, they have my admiration as it cant be an easy job and having bought several birds from the end sales the last 2 years Imust say the birds I have bought have been in excelent condition and a real credit to Jeremy and the team.
  17. Aye Aye! :-/
  18. I quite agree with you Roland, there are people in my area that the local depot will not deal with as they have been nothing but moaners and complainers and about nothing too really. I have a great relationship with my local depot and have never had a single problem this end. One bird in a batch of 6 that were sent out once ended up in preston, some 90 odd miles away from where it was going but they soon got that sorted and had the bird sent to the correct address via a courier, Im sure that didnt come cheap but was delivered the very same day and I was old and wise enough to know mistakes do happen and that shouting and moaning and laying down the law to people will get you nowhere. Like you say Roland if people have a problem with their local depot dont use them and go themselves or perhaps try educating the local depot, as most drivers know nothing about the birds and see it as nothing more than any other parcel. I have sent out hundreds of pigeons with amtrak and just that one minor problem, as you say this sport would have a BIG problem if Amtrak did pull the plug on what I through personal experience think is an excelent service. GOOD ON YOU AMTRAK! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!! Oh and NO I do not work for them, Im just a happy customer.
  19. who gives a monkeys about the turn table Alf I wouldnt mind it in my shed whoever it belongs to.
  20. Dont let people get to you buddy. Do your own thing and forget um I say, Lifes too short!
  21. I say 4-6 for racing but breeding between 8-10 but wouldnt buy a bird over 8 yrs old as moving them can finish the breeding potential. Learned from others experiences there!
  22. 12 Yb's from my WINNING lines of Staf Van Reets for a T3 clock and printer. Must be in good working order and not knocked about as the birds sure wont be! Must be RPRA Agreed also
  23. Never heard of that can I borrow it lol :
  24. No it is best left to go tacky but not dried out
