Was just feeding when I saw a shallie pied puffed up on the roof. Open the traps, as there are few around and thought it must have been one of mine lost. Sure enough, in great silky condition, AND well cared for. Lost off the top 2 years ago, returned real late last year. Not mated of course. I lost it again on it's first race, just a 150 miler. But obviously she has two lofts now. Should cull her really as it is no good to me, and little to them, for the cretin hasn't bother to report etc.

Very True and Bill Butterfield losy 13 in one season. Magpies a pain too... but a few disc flickering in the SUN keeps them at bay... not dull das of course.

Never had it in the Army Vic did you. Sleep on the floor a few nights. Then that Glynstac Sulphur, two tabs for a while then just one.

Yes and you can legally have them. A local Fox hunting faterinty have some... and are trying to let that have THE KILL. but rest assured that a eagle Accomadation, espeacially when let to sit out - is tethered of course - no bird of prey will settle. Am seriously thinking of asking the guy to fly it around my loft ... two parrow hawk nest here 100 odd so yards each side. And just the odd crow. They made short thrift of them when they decided to take up residence... the Sparrow Hawks that is.

Why treat to camaflage Scaily skin? Like many other symptoms. If it has ... whatever, and why? So then treat accordingly. Can have a bird looking like a million dollars, but can't fly to it's perch!
-
Two theories... A day in the basket, fed and watered etc as a Basket training stint, and Two, hope they get caught up and fly with them a way, any good will be back night fall or early morning... If reported make a gift of it!

Personally I'd get double grand children of Loellas St. Vincent, Smard 1 and 11 etc. Have won nationals and even a International for GB Flyers. I also feel a lot has to do with your set up and system for Distance racing. Have never had birds pacifically for the distance, bu all my birds - mostly otrhers cast off lol - fly the distance.

Sto molley coddling birds and treat them as humans, pretending we know more than them. We don't, if fact there are two treal certainties, WE Don't know oat, let alone how they home. And if content they will home, regardless where and when within reason. Training is purely for sharpening their fitness. If ranging is finished and you want to send them 20 miles most days, any direction they will do you proud. Mostly only send mine 3/4 chucks in f our directions and then straight into a 100 mile race when I bother to train or even fly a y/b.

Start mucker again... can always pack up when your tired of winning too much I suppose. They needmn't be time consuming... Depends on set up and system. I could get away with less than an hour a day easily. Yes so race days means longer waiting for the birds, but then that is the icing on the cake! Besides it will leave a hole in the guts big time if your doing other folks bidding. My misses moans and makes a point or two every day. But knows that when I'm in the loft - away from her lol - I am at my happiest! So her choice is simple, put up with then and me being happy, and we stay together... or I move where I set me new loft up! Simple choice she has really lol.

A wire cage with nest boxes and a false roof a foot above extending about 12 - 15 inches out all the way around. But instead of all the sides bing wire mesh use 'Air Vent instead up ti the first roof of wire mesh. Airy, great for birds and have 2 foot nest boxes that show the foot square at the front... they go back 2 foot.

Have often when they have finished ranging let them up with the Barnsley Fed liberation, likewise some of the older ones in my club that told me! Yes some are back in no time and some just before nightfall. But losses are few to say the least. Was breaking in some y/b's last season that I'd bought in. 30 in all when they got hit 4 days after. Now that was a different kettle of fish. Fetch 3. Transfered 2 and one home on night and 5 worked back weeks later. Now they haven't been tossed even yet and in this weather unlikely to for a onth or so. First week in May if no East in wind and warmth on their back. Otherwise they and I can wait.

Just don't bother to talk to the locals... they pester like the clappers, Fags, £65 per 1000. Camel straw lol lituraully. Never accept the first price on anything, it is at lweast 330% above, and don't take too much notice of the guide either, he's on a percentage. When they hassle just don't talk, then they will move to the next one. But a great cheap holiday nevertheless.

Ah well stick to windows 95 then!

Would love that wind direction meself lol. Have to have words with someone about it lol.
-
Would also say look at haystacks and how and why they are dried and aired!
-
And moved up from a Guest poster too. Be a modulator soon no doubt at this rate lol.

Once read an article 'Would race them to a tree if I could trap them race days'! 100% correct I believe. So why aren't our lofts just Averies with a box to shelter from!
-
Nice Vic isn't that Frank Tasker beplied as to why, and gave a good answer.

Wouldnae buy Tammy a drink back apparently!

mytton6 keep them seperate and a quick mingle basket night! Then start repairing from 2 nd week in June Looking at the date of the circle for when you wqnt cocks driving Big Swab, hens sitting tight etc. if you are interested in distance or hard races. Yes I know many Naturals are wiping the oards at prsent, but they are seasoed pro's like. If they are doing well when seperated then think twice as to when and whyyou'd want to repair them. Eggs or young in may will fly all the way! But time to decide and keep one eye awak. But don't swap, stat and keep changing because for every result you do get will mean dozens you won't, and you will also want to know how and why!

You have it sussed mucker... make sure the air flow is never blocked or not in use though.

Saw the same program in parts Frank, was sommat on other side too like. But Yakult does firm them droppings up lots, as I found out after Johnny 11 advised me to. But begs the question 'Does it sort the problem, or camaflages it'. Johnny will no doubt tell us.

Good to see you back Johnny 11
