Ken a friend of mine namely Frank Bristow has fantastic sucess just flying the hens like that. He takes the hens up the road about 3- 5 miles on basketing night and the cock birds in the pens waiting. But they don't tread etc. He - like me- swears that the hens are better that cocks any day. I believe that on hard days / distance the hens are far more genuine.

I tried for a while to Just Feed race last season but the dirge of the onstant 'Feral' put a stop to nigh much. Ricky Mardis did very well where one just controls completely by feed, and not even loft flying. I believe that Chris Balsam was also quite sucessfull too on this system once. I know that Chris defnately tried it about 10 years back I believe.

Spot on Steve, has been around for a good while yet ... Love to be able to know where they were on Distance days, and whether I could go up the pub instead lol. Golly we have enough trouble with ET's and that cost... but 'd go for he GPS Thing. Can't se why we ain't all GPS marked! Was a time when it was deliberately a few yards out because of 'Terroist attacks... but them days are long gone. In Canada, I'm 999.9999% sure, that they can / do even if of nessacate lib where convienient and send the cordinates back... every one then can log in their Distance from that Liberation.... Larry Lucus or Bill Bennie with no doubt be able to confirm that. But I know it is possible and am sure it has happened.

I simple state that I knew of many cases where Hackers take over a site, or even a Email addie and spill a lot of havoc around whilst the so called culprit is helpless and daren't even send a Email of appoligy because that may also be contaminated. Once in they can and do take over till the Internet big boys sort it. Golly just look at the times a day ones P.c is updated to safe guard one's .c etc. They are very clever and slick as we all know and there are umpteen 'Docs' working around the clock trying to keep a drift and combat them. So no I personally never for a moment thought you was able to do anything ... AS my POST state.

I personlly was as is all to see exonerating Steve, like others were.. Sure some are complexed and wanted to know just what is what and what and how it hapened... Nice one Ace... but it never amazes me how surprised and amazed fanciers seem to be when the likes of happen. A great national flyer was the same to me when he mistakenly put a yearling untrained with the others and sent it 50 miles and it homed! I was really in stitches as I'd send a y/b that and think nothing of popping it into a 100 odd mile race that week - end. He takes his 3 miles each direction ... well actually 300 yards each direction to basket climate them, But he is a class act, and far far better flyer than I'll ever be!. I read a great article vie John Wills - when Rose was flying with him. I would be glad to copy and send to any one. Some folks have sent the birds first Toss ever to Pau when two years old!

Agree Expat, but anyone that has emailed / visited your addie leaves a caling card. So it could well be that is / has b collected. I agree and believe you 100% especially as similar has happened to me and many others. It is very embassasing to say the least.

Well last time for instance I had 6 youngster from Bristol - fancier wasn't around a lot and pinning him down was awkward to say the least. He placed them 9 : 30 in Bristol, here at 1 : 30 so was happy. Had sent two strays back to their owners the week previously, both collected late afternoon, one in Essex was there that night, the other up North was - as promised - next morning. Indeed the Essex chappie was surprised as he thought it would be next morning. Yes and I am thankfull. But Crap hapens and if one thought of how many birds were transported it is bound to have a few cock ups. This is Livestock though and we tend to fret more I guess naturally.

A Virus / whatever has the ability to go into a Computers Address Book / contacts and then does the rest it's self. It is collected with others and then store anywhere, and just repeats and sends out. I once took the plug out and when I switched on 3 days day I had umpteen people tel me to 'please stop send me viruses etc! Which Of course I hadn't. I got shot of Norton etc. and went to a freebie like AVG which the universities use. No problems, thanks to Johnny 11 forwarded it. I now use another freebie called AVAST and it has been great, first class since. his... well just has it all built in and WORKS! So sorry all those that think that 'Patrick' is sending them, for the simple reality is probably that his Diary is now in a strangers hands and will go out as and they feel like it... Till the Net work catches up with them and stops it, which they will soon... then thay 'Play another one. It is a game to these people pitting witts against each other. Like the ole Poacher v Gamekeeper syndrome.

Not really as I believe Buisness is Buisness, and it works on a % of fair, and they may well only take them a few miles personally. Me well when i hae used them, I have a cheerful manner, and offer a Cuppa if they have time! The a little moan about all the pigeon fanciers moaning about them - a small % really - and we have a laugh at their Sad attitudes, and hey presto, always been great service! Build the frame, and where the compartments are to be ... then fit 1/2 inch mesh all over the parimeter. Do some battens likewise for the roof and cover both sides with wire mesh the same. Place a slightly slanted (forward) roof over it that is a foot or so above it. This needs to be overlapped by a foot or so, and fill in the gap between the roof and the false wire mesh roof with a batton frame covered again both sides with the wire mesh. Place Plastic air vents on a frame as the outer wall. I cladd mine with plastic for the winter -that can ne quickly removed - and more air vents used as a wall from May onwards. My nest boxes are just a foot square, great for just the one round needed. IF more youngster were / are needed then it would be 2 foot DEEP as opposed to wide. Mine loft is 16 foot wide nearly. it goes back 9 foot. it has four compartments and just one entry for both me and the pigeions. That is nearly 3 foot wide. So that is 3 compartments within 13 foot nearly.The three are just 3 -4 foot deep to the foot square nest boxes, or birds cages. The fourth for y/b's runs the full 13 foot length at the back and is nearly 3 and a half foot deep. Could comfortably house 70 - 80 birds.

A wire cgae with a hole like a 4/5 inch saucepan shape around the entry will entrap any thing nigh and can't fly out... nor climb up and then down and up again! Have heard that a false wire bottom can be place in also about 6/7/8 iches high so it could be baited.

These did fight all comers time and again, and nigh every fight. etc. Graziano, Lamotta, even Turpin on the home front! No not knocking him, just not getting carried away with the ethoria.
