Yes doos r us, and it is nice to have some Jam on the toast when you do yourselve proud every so often. Good luck to you and every sucess.... after all we compete with the other boot every week nigh!your
  3. It is caled racing via 'Feed' only. And yes it is a very sucessful system. Rick Mardis did very well on that system apparently.... besides others of course.
  4. A realist!
  5. Ditto. have taken two up towards their lofts also this very week -end and today for the owners. Took one 22 miles and met the owner last Thursday with his bird. So I get peeed sometime when they treat you as if your a blumming nuisance. But that's folk I guess.

Was two weeks centre spread in the RP / BHW. That doesn't suprise me none. What does thaough is how many say they missed it. IT was carried over a two week period. And also some sensible guide lines, and praised the british fancier for being of a more concerning nature. Likewis, for instance how a dead bird can win etc. But then again the MARKING station will have to be very warey and on the ball full stop. And yes of course it is here to stay. Just hope most of the members will be. But it is a blumming good thing, and I hope one day very soon EVERYONE has one.
  7. Seems tyo me that if ring or /Wing stamp is used, then the owner wants his birds reported. If not then they don't. Trouble there then, is that when some one sees a ring addie or stamp, they think. 'Ar he wants this back, must fancy te breeding.... bet of good stock' and they train it up. Then a few months later if it has been coming well, and bred a couple of rounds they report it! Then I personally do either one of two things, make out it was of National winners etc, and collect it ... the ... or say 'Good Golly wondered where it had got too, use must have been in a loft in every county, there no more, thought it was like dead like thye rest of that crap family. Never did oat that crap, and not just for me, never known ANYone to have even a half decent bird from them .... ' If they say they like the look and would like to try it, I then say 'Nah I'll have it back mate and do you a favour.... Beside be happy with it's fore parent I guess'. And either fetch or have Amtrack to fetch it!

Very true Jimmy... but many don't have even the T3, I myself, like 80 odd percent like of the clubs members in the clubs I am in. the 17 Seconds was from the survey commisioned by the RPRA just a few short years back. I would be happy to give any manual clocker 17 sec, as by seasons ends of the shorter races, I would be gaining even then I feel. Besides, I am a sports minded person, and I don't want any little extra help. I'd rather everyone had it, or handicap 15 seconds the first bird and perhaps5 sec each bird after. If tat don't happen I shalln't be having a ET. If it does then of course I will. Then I may well just pack up and keep the birds in the garden. But I can't see me flying next season if we manual are discriminated against!
  9. Yes Jim.... why, I say that a little garden lime settled in the drinkers, helps keep the stress level very low. It has a great soothing effect. Heard for yonks, like many others, that Lime encourages E. Coi, well just has I can't prove Lime does what it appears to do, and over a long period, no one can point that Lime does any such thing. Indeed just look at the Lime between brinks that they will relish when givem the chance, or fielding for it in the troughs, along with minerals and even a peck or too at the Salt Rocks. They tell us - I believe - but we want to prove we know better lol.

Yes Jimmy and that is part and partial of the game, a fact everyone does, or should know, and one that is generally accepted. What peeves many of is the silly denials by many when they are in thaeir favoured positions. I bet most know of many that have bought, or moved to a more favourable position. Seldom seen many that move to the Western side. One house hold name did... but he quickly packed up racing and concentrated on selling his birds. Like he says 'If I am to sell birds, they must be doing the bizz ... and when I moved i knew it would be very unlikely I'd win much, if at all in this western side'. Honest enuf eh!

Sorry a quarter of a mile IN front and still be no where.

Please stop talking silly and spouting crap scenario. If you take 17 seconds - a surveyed fact, for the average fancier to manual clocker, then the manual clocker's bird(s) could be a quarter of a mile behind ( at 1760 ypm), and if six dr0pped, then the manual clocker wouldn't even be on the time sheets. Fact, so what is so hard to understand in that? 20 birds hit the area together, regardless how quick the manual clocker is, he doesn't get a look in! FACT! Further NO ONE ha ever implied that a clock makes a pigeon faster, but with ET timing the chances of getting trap shay are nigh nil, whereas every week a manual clockers birds get more sceptical and often trap slower. So it has never been suggested that a clock make the bird ly faster, but trap quicker each week than most manual clockers. Simple really for any one interested in the truth that is! There are great benefits and many great reasons for the ET to be employed by all .... but until it can be, it is very unfair - discrimatenly so TOO!, on those unable to hae one! Simple that!
  13. Well food for thought eh. Inoculations are a part and partial of every day live, both with humans and creatures. Polio is rated the top and most successful, indeed many thought that the dieses and problems were nigh over… well that was till some countries thought they’d abandon it, and at great cost. It is, and was of course still prevalent. So a small dose is given and the immune system sorts it, and then symptoms are so prevalent. But of course many are still carriers though to all sense and purpose the disease doesn’t have such bad results or consequences Yet like canker it is part and partial of the birds make up. Indeed a mild form is good for the birds regardless what many would have you believe. A mild form keeps any stronger variant at bay. So what do we do eh! Clean them out before and up to when they are about to be feeding young! Surely nature has proven she knows best as pigeons have always, and still do, carry a mild form of canker. Surely it’s intended to immunerise their system when the adult birds feed their young!. Feel it is just another reason why pigeons are always being popped up with pills etc. Besides, regardless who says otherwise, a mild form of canker has never handicapped a pigeon in any race yet.
  14. Had a great looking bird I had bought, broke it in, and it race quite well at the distance. Lost it and just a matter of weeks later I saw it's photo as the sire of stock being sold from a well know Feather Merchant. Of course i didn't for a moment believe this to be the case. A few weeks later this feather merchant reported that bird and I had the RPRA letter etc. Being a bit niave I thought he wanted it to breed from as it looked a ringer for his stock, and agreed to transfer it.. Lol and behold he no time he was selling youngsters, and grandchildren etc. from the ring number and stating it's great creditials. No I let him get on with it as I couldn't be arsed for all the bother that would undoubtedly have been to no avail, and besides 'Folks' will believe what they want regardless.First year I started on my own I went to a few sales, and saw youngsters bred of a National winner for sale. The bird was off a good flyer that had local connections till he bought his 'Location' and did well. Strange think was the 'National Winner' I happen to read in a story in the BHW had actually been dead for two years! If I was to sell duds, the quickest and surest way would be on the 'Hush Hush' of stolen stock I was breeding from. I would be rich, have a terrible name, and those that were caling me would be the very ones giving me the 'Nod and Wnk' hat they were open to a 'Good Deal' on the quiet! lol. Sad but true. Use to ry to sell Tights /Watches / toys etc. at a place I worked. But no one was interested because they resented me making a buck. Human nature ... So after a few months of not selling oat I had a Word in the ear of a blabber mouth or two that I was knocking out bent gear, but oly as a favour to him and repeating 'DON'T tell anyone else. Evry night at work I'd get whispers in the ear, and a promise they they were safe to sell too and would tell any one else. I was seling great and earning more that the Night job, which I loathed having to leave because sales were fantastic and regular. Human nature I guess, mores the pity. Hands up, who would buy the Xmas drink at half the super market prices for Nmaed brands etc.!
  15. Of course.
  16. Well the Nortrhern birds (Barnsley and Co) are all up and away in a great lib. Yes was a few break away flocks but soon all were heading home. Loverly day and clear blue skies.
  17. Trichno treats for all three at same time with one treat. Rhiendfends or however it's spelt. Frank Bristow is an agent for them.... and others, just ak on jere. Good luck
  18. Well if Chlorine kills bacteria, surely it kills good as well and supposedly bad - if in the intestines there is such a thing except when do to illness. Then of course one is killing the suposed GOOD bateria needed to defend the guts etc. eh?

Had a fellow that can't get in into his head that the amount of distance given alters from race point to race point. Nor can he understand that one may fly 6 miles, though only 2 miles away via road. I am 12 miles from Raunds for instance, but sometimes they fly only 2 - 3 miles further. Best way is to get a thread / string and circle it like a compass from different points.
  20. Yes and timed of course. I aAm in the process of forming a 'Race Video' involving a fictious pigeon race, which I shall show on race nights, I have horses dogs, pigs etc. Especially in Corporate do's, but not just them but all do that I do do. there that will do just fine lol. I'll have to use 8 lofts and people spouting about their bird a bit, then the race and clocking in. Also the winning bird. I feel it coild create a bit of interest, and may even rekindle a flame or put a seed in a person mind to fester. Who knows!?
  21. Always let mine stand over night. Have a lid which fits and covers, and vents near the top of the 5 galleon 'Brewers' bucket.
  22. I saw this on another site and thought it was pretty cool like. http://desmoore.tripod.com/id29.html
  23. Sorry I started that as a 'New Thread' so Bruno will be able to move this one above ..... Please.... lol
  24. A mate has already a program that photo's and time every movement that passes a censor. His was orginally for security reasons. But would time in the birds and photo them as well. Offered me a copy free. But doubt if it would be passed by RPRA as the money boys will block that and say no more there. But if he was to sell a few at a real low cost, there wouldn't be nothing wrong in them being used for training purposes.
