Nice to see such a loverly act, you and hubby must be good people. I wish you both happiness. But you will be, I fear, sadden shortly, for Honey will leave you I'm most certain. Sure if a male bird etc. but that's another saga. It is nice to see the bird etc. But i feel a great part of it, is it's freedom that attracts, and then the thought that Honey has chosen you as foster parents etc. is nice. have a nice day.

You know this is exactly what is happening now! Golly share the hats around. Give over and give it a rest all of you for Pete's sake. Not rent money is lost, the missis is still cooking, and the kids bawling! That u see has nothing to do with Pigeons' this site. If that is happening at home, put that in order first I reckon! Like say, P.s, not telling tales... but you know Blah Blah, not that I'm one to stir... But that...! Struth worst than ole washer women ever were!

Best yardsticks are first off your own loft... then Club / position allocated for, then likewise Fed. Depending where you live, forget Combines and Nationals.
-
Demolition site... £25 and they deliver the lot. All seasonedand quality.
-
When do you want us all to leave ;D
-
Very interesting that. andthat's fer sure.

A lot of sence there. Two year no old birds... loft fly if one must. Feed and water the Ferals and invertamin them with pour on... think your starting to cook on gas now... then the heat will be turned up.
-
Nice to see I'm still in like. Thanks.

Snap, have two Sparrow hawks nest within a 100 yards ... had two attacks in the last 6 years or so... and none for three. They have a massive food store over the road, and old dialect Picture / theathre house. Good thing is that they got shot of the crows... hope they start on the magpis soon. Having said that haven't had the discs blowing for a couple of years so that could well be down to me.

We All do be needing this product of Invetamin 'Pour on'. Simple reality that! But, you know what the most soul destroying thing is about our fancy> Well, to me and many others, it is that they moan and whinged about everything, and do nowt! They raise countless thousands every year for good causes. Even the Governing bodies spread money around for this and that and the other to a public that doesn't even know, let alone alone appreciate it - how can they when they don't even know, to put us in a good light, but not a penny to help our own sport! When the likes of Ken Livingston termed our birds - public don't differentiate between ferals and us, it goes left unanswered and allowed to stick. -Indeed I'd wager that most of us hear it spouted about, too much in fact.
-
Nah, just the fact that with regular, and same usage it will constantly come back stronger than before.

No, probably just learning. This is the best time, and observation, and listening is of great important. But I fear like all of us, it will be 2/3 years before you do, as keeness will often mar your jugdement, and hopes of finding the goldern challice. But that is 'pigeons' and what gives us the 'Bug'.

Daykin I guess... His have won nationals. Admitted one that won two had 25% Van beele in it, of Evans'

I agree les, your jacket is a great bit of gear ... personally I think it should have a permant placing with the Other constant topics like Sticky's. Come Webmaster, leave it up front for all to see, refer back to at any time.

No. They are van drivers, not welfare officers for the creature comforts zone. So, best to mention it, supply a galleon drum, and a water trough. Preferable not a paper or cardboard one... and hope that the go back into the box after being let out for a drink ;) ;D ;D Get real eh!

He didn't like the casserole And he didn't like my cake. He said my biscuits were too hard Not like his mother used to make. I didn't perk the coffee right He didn't like the stew, I didn't mend his socks The way his mother used to do. I pondered for an answer I was looking for a clue. Then I turned around and smacked the sh** out of him... Like his mother used to do. 1. Go to a second-hand store and buy a pair of men's used size 14-16 work boots. 2. Place them on your front porch, along with a copy of Guns and Ammo Magazine. 3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazines. 4. Leave a note on your door that reads: Hey Duncan, Me, Big Jim, Duke and Slim went for more ammunition. Back in an hour or so. Don't mess with the pit bulls - they attacked the mailman this morning and messed him up real bad. I don't think Killer took part in it but it was hard to tell from all the blood. Anyway, I locked all four of them in the house. Better wait outside. Roland

Well, we could all start by using Ivertimin POUR ON for starters. And the biigest thing for anyPolitician to get noted is a Band Wagon. Sorry can't see there bing much difference in 5 - 10 years, except less birds, and soon the BOP being cannibalistic ... have to be, nowt else left to eat. But can't see any movement here / there, or else where - mores the pity - for that matter. Any and EVERY thing that needs a 'Public agenda, a point to get over, needs and HAS a good PR Firm. £22000 would more than see one up and running for a year or two. Yes the RPRA can well afford the funding and have a regular 'Spokesman' etc every year. Why don't they? Well quite simple the members won't have it, what a 50p levy would pay for it! No way, and as for spending funds, they were / are up in arms. Sadly it seems yet again that we are our own worst eminies! No wonder the RSPB laugh at us"!

Regardless, No one - that has the time, will ever be found to do a decent PR job. It is simply a fact, and the real beauty of a PR firm they would look at it from a completely different view point. One that will get Joe Public's attention ... Not like a pigeon fancier would, who would be A. Be seen as Bias, B. be Bias, and C. not have the profeesionalism require. Know how it works and ticks in an everlasting change mode situation. We would have to be able to promote, and not be asview the 'Clothed Cap guysm playing around with them 'Flying Rats.' Able also to put across the differential of ferals and the Fancy's birds. Ultalise the many 'Media' catching elements with have within our grasp. Further to be a good trained 'Voice Piece' for our cause. That is just for starters. better by far, I say, is lobby for a P.R. Firms, then will also get on board professional 'Lobbyists' that have access to Corridor Politics, and open doors to the right people. Etc. etc. etc.

Overton was a fancier and half in the late forties to early 50’s. He had an ole coal shed where a tree had actually grown up and out through the slate roof. There was quite a few ‘Air holes and a door that was nigh always half a jar. Was around the normal 7 x 6 size There was two dogs constantly outside. He started pigeons and just left them to it. It was soon crammed jam full. – they loved to peck the ole coal etc. You had to beat him to win, and there was no two ways about that. In 1954 he had done so well he thought he’d treat the pigeons to a new home. He went to the local wood / shed builders ‘Scotts’ who built his custom made loft £80, yes a colossal amount, nigh buy a house with that in them days! Plenty of room, sliding tray above the floor that slid outside out for easy scraping etc. Yes, you’ve guessed it, he never won another thing. Stayed like that till he packed up 6 years later. Now as for reading and taking note of this Writers / Names’ and their’ Video’s etc. and how they nigh always off handedly spout about over crowding eh! Liken it to the port of Boxing. Every time a lad - on T. V. when a commentator see a hand held low they spout. ‘He must keep his hands up, protect him self at all times’. Just where they been for the last 50 years eh! Since Cassius / the great Ali showed the reasons why hands are down, most if not all, greats since have held their hands low. Prince Naseem was at Northampton when age about 14, when the Referee a Sandy Thompson – and he often relates to the story of how he was educated – and boxing with his hands down. Three times he said ‘Stop Boxing’ and told him to keep his hands up. Nasseem on the fourth time asked him why! ‘To protect your self at all times’ Sandy replied. ‘Well’ Nasseem replied ‘When he hits me, tell me then’! Every heavy weight has hands down pouring actions etc. It is not so energy burning. Reactions are times faster, movement is not restricted – Indeed most drop hands when they need to move quickly out he way and dance off – and above all ONE moves away and out of trouble instead of the stupidest thing of staying there and trying to block punches. Further when doing as such, you are effectively inviting a ‘Shot’ to land and put you out the game’ Could write a book on my experiences regards coaching. But that is another story lol. So why do they do it! Because they feel ther are suppose to.
-
Yep, what is the yardstick for overcrowding? There isn't one. But more importantly, where is the line draw between 'Over Crowding' and bad managerment'! Likewise Over Crowding and Not enough time'. My simple evalueation is as many as you like, 2/3 places / perches short, sufficent air in, and smell out! When any loft has a sour smell, then you need to clean, regardless of system, deep litter, scrape out etc. etc.
-
Yep, but seems that won't happen any more. So why don't we just tell Amtra to improve or get lost... No better to keep moaning I guess. I fetch most of my birds myself when reported, withing sensible reason regards time and distance. 200miles etc. each way even. But I worry, yes I really do, and dread the day when Amtrax says 'Ok and stuff you lot too... we are no longer able or interested to transport your birds'!

Like I sais Merlin, you are 100% right. Also, it is, and will be just like Vic posted till we ALL that have a concern, band together and do like you have advocated. Mind they have a PR Firm aboard like any and every concern does / will have when dealing with the public... Well that is everyone outside of the 'Pigeon Fanciers'. Time every fancier sent the RPRA 50p each and told them to employ one too! But that, like the end of the BOP, will never happen.
