word of truth and wisdom. Especially them Names... the ones that buy in / boughgt in and say how well they are doing... and off load them to retrieve their money when proven no good... Fact again. What's their' favourite line 'Well I've spent an absolute fortune on getting these, birds, only the best you know that... you wouldn't believe how much I spent (I would) so just want to get a little of me outlay back ... ' etc. the bigger the name the more to watch out, FACT! Most swap with other big names, and keep them close to their chest. One Midland so called great flys another strain altogether from what he sells... Infact flies the ones he buys in in season - well did till told to sling his hook for not mentioning the fellow where he actually gets the flyers from - and still sell his 'OLD strain name' Indeed they don't fly, haven't for yonks, but fetch a good price. The beat goes on and is endless.

Yep must say Johnny11's card is well worth having .... One never knows when one may want a decent testing of'Droppings', or a bacteria examination of the birds.

Should have read' ... they are NOT good enough, and one swallow doesn't make a summer! I

Rubbish! Any way, one can't help it if the door was opened by intruders during the night. Need a PR. Firm!!! fact that

Was at the club, - happened most seasons, when a fanciers said' Can't understand it! I take the training, they come like the clappers, I call in and they eat well etc. As soon as loft is open they are out and flying, arcing necks and wings, and clapping. Fly well and chase all and sundry, YET every race day they come behind the others and don't perform . etc.' Him or the birds? :-/ Was second a few times, a winner andwas in the shake up to win the Gold Cup (Fed) I Trained a few others members - free - and also Raunds etc. After race seaons I said to Gary Edmunds about mating what with what like... and he asked me where I would be getting the new birds from :-/ I said nowt. Later Barry Andrews was at the loft and I brought the subject up... He said, Roland, they fed well, flew well, and was trained well. Anything and everything possible to do you did... In fact exactly as mine, - He won the Gold Cup etc. and most averages etc. But only one win!!! And a few seconds... why mate them? Time to change the birds... they are good enough! I was peeved and carried on... cottoned on later than sooner that the birds weren't up to it.

Oh yeal ... Penny farthing if memory serves me correct lol ;D

Heck.... what was I going to say... ;D

I wrote quote ' ... I personally don't care what any post says, as long as it isn't spiteful, derogative, or deliberately misleading. I have the choice either to put up, or let it slide. Mostly - believe it or not - I let much slide.' And further, in cowhoots with Dovescot's relism it is far better to let the topic run, good or bad for the truth will out. But I might add here that once the thread becomes just repetative and nothing new is added or agreed upon, it should end. Could it be that THEN a moddy says, and asks the very simple real question of the 2 or 3 left to wrap it up and have 2- 3 final says. Because most topic run their course, and then it does tend to become tedious and boring once it has run it's course. Having said that 99% of all topic peter out naturaully.
-
Nor can I... and I'm older than my comuter... lol
-
Neither did I ... :-/ But again that is not the real issue is it? It is what and why that went before and how it ended. Further, that the point I was making, was that many are doing the very things that they want stopping... Be easier i reckon if they just stopped it. I personally don't care what any post says, as long as it isn't spiteful, derogative, or deliberately misleading. I have the choice either to put up, or let it slide. Mostly - believe it or not - I let much slide. Why, well too short a time for childish and useless bribrac... rather the crack and help each other. Great also to see, and sometimes participate in a fundemental topic. Never mind the outcome, there aren't and need not be 'Winners and Losers' in any debate, just most - hopefully enlightened - and hope gained, or refreshened with a view of improving their birds life and their ability to enhance their short stay in our hands. Yes winners are great ... but I believe you have to learn to lose gracefully before you can ever win with creedence.

Yes Old hands was good, all 6 of them. Indeed in their time was great, and much still is. But the air in Louves at the Bottom front and out the Top back for example is old hat, and well out of date now. The air must circle and leave for proper effect, so must hit the back and then go out through the Centre at least. Not nit picking, but a lot there is good, and some not so good, depending on view point.

100% correct, and why is to be 'Locked'? Is it because another view is put forward? This surely ranks of hypocrisy of the highest order, besides an unfair slant, that doesn't suit, being condemned? Surely this is sour grapes and further bias to achieve own views, right or wrong. Freedom of speech doesn't mean a right to up, or defame, but surely, if only for the sake of decency topic should be allowed to run their course. If – often like me lol - it means abiding ones tongue, seeing things in print I / they don't necessarily like, let alone agree with still being voiced and after I / they said everything I / they can of relevance, then so be it. But to stop an active topic because it doesn't suit some smacks of bullish and childish behavior. And as Dovescot so rightly says, locking a topic solves nothing! Gandhi once said so rightly that the Bigger man, with a stick or gun, may win the argument - because the other can't / daren't carry it further - but in reality it never solves anything. Why! Because they go away silenced, but still believing they are right! Often with a bad taste in their mouth. Now it may well be that most times, if let t run it's course, that the outcome is 'Agree to differ'. But you know, both mostly, and most looking in, learn something, or another angle, but get something out of it ... if only in Dovescot case Dandruff lol ;D ;D

Sorry bewted, never saw your post, was busy spouting off I guess... Then I just saw the follow up. Let me assure you, I wasn’t even aware of any views of yours in these regards, so I will just say in response to the query that I've have had a couple or so of members have a real pop at me via private mail. I just sent my postal address. Further if he did that, then name and shame him when it happened I guess. You can ask for all and any 'private massages’ from any member to be de barred from getting to you for starters. Best way around the personal thing I'd reckon. I remember well when Vic first came on here. He was having a pop or two here and there. Was an upsurge to have him banned in no time at all. I believe I was the first to say leave him be. Some 'Monitors' of the site were very strongly all for him being removed permanently. I had a go, as did Allbear very soon afterwards to leave him be, say he was / could be of a good thing. Vic is Vic, take him, leave him, or ignore him. I argued that he had a lot of knowledge and his input could well be valuable etc. Any way he disappoints me in that regard, as he never passes on much n the way of knowledge. But he has a great wealth of it, a great mind and a wicked wit, so we gain in that respect I suppose. But in helping, as I felt he could, and I feel he has a lot more to offer, but doesn't... perhaps we should ban him too. ;D ;D I also believe that - if memory serves me correct, that Timbarra was banned for a month - I.e. four weeks!.... Well it has been a few more weeks (Months in fact) since then. So inline with that, HE SHOULD be back on board. Or are we to believe that if certain ones don't want, the Richard won't do? REGARDLESS of the said terms. Indeed can that, or should they be changed willy nilly to suit some...! Personally couldn't give a fickled rat's *expletive removed*, but right is right, fair is fair, and those spout for it aren't up in arms to reinstate Timbarra though and the rules are apparently being sauce for Goose alone on this matter. So where is the REAL matter of 'Rights and Wrongs'. Just where is the line and who decides where and when the goal posts can be moved to suit. Before any anyone can ask for a 'Just and right' view surely this injustice should be at the top of the list to be put right.... Otherwise the very essence of anything and every thing has no credence.

In a word 'Dispicable'. Why is it done... surely some anti ET's having a childish pop. Will it stop? Will the sun circle tomorrow!

:P ;D ;D isn't that just it! That surely is the beauty of having, or being a 'Free Moral' agent / approach! Of course it is. Why should it be that one is expected, or even relied upon by some, to agree with certain ones on every thing! Of course one can't, especially if one wants to be true to themselves. Why I once posted that certain 'Posters' have an agenda, others beckon for moral support. Fine for some. OTHERS wish to just stand up and be counted, regardles whether Tom, Dick or Harry agrees or supports or not.. I hope I never resort to asking, expecting others support for my views. Was once ( Just ythe once) when it was thought I'd made a mistake... but that was the mistake, for I'd never made it lol As for Joe61 being Timbarra's dad, well I don't know, niether care. If he is, Then I believe that most, regardless, would have a pop back when viable. Further, if I was able to highlight 'Rules, decorum, for one, and not for others. Why, that's why I'd never sent anyone to the corner ... without a Duncy's hat. ;D ;D

So where is the pack being led now? This site is mainly for the benefit of Pigeons and their fanciers. Charactors, likes and dislikes should be laid aside and disregared. Yes by all means protect the novice, but don't crucify anyone that has a dig at one, for when they first come on 99% of us don't know that they are novices. Sooner pointed out sooner fixed. I for one would certainly hold my hands up if deemed out of order, and I am more than willing to hae things pointed out to me. If I felt it was put over in a degrading, insulting way then YES I am able to come back at it for sure. A novice might not be quite so able... But then when pointed out that would never arise, because 99% of the posters on here are big enough, genuine enough to say 'Whoa, sorry, i didn't......' So no problem there FOR SHURE!

Like to pick up on a point made early. Regards Joe61 and him having a vendetta for a person being banned on here. I can't remember Timbarra getting banned, nor the posts leading up to it. Must be a dizzy age thing. But I will I speak as I find. It is disgraceful that he was banned, - may have had warnings etc, who knows, who cares. But that fella took more than his fair share of crap and abuse. The very things that certain ones DID to him, and now spouting like the clappers about folks that do it!!! So he sold a few birds, so he wasn't racing at the moment SO WHAT! he was up front, but nigh everything he said was nit picked. Never mind But.. If... it was, unfair from the start... If my Aunt had balls she'd been my uncle! springs to mind. It did escalate, and continued to do so. But those who were doing the nit picking were DOING exactly what this site is now trying to condemn! Yes I know a couple had a ding dong with him, both more than capable of holding their own! And they weren't novices, or new comers. And they more than held their own. Heard he was more than a bit strong with a post! So knock the post off and telling to leave it! Golly there is a very large amount indeed of posts removed, but don't see any of them banned. have I met Timbarra? Yes. Did I, or do I like the fella? Well I could take him or leave him. Not my cup of tea regards socalising I'd say. Never be a bed mate and that's for sure. But he deserved better, and should never have been banned from what I saw of his posts... A pendelum swings both ways to work! But the pack followers certainly did more than snap at the tail, and that's fer shure!

Yep, a few latebreds, as far as I'm concerned, is the way forward. Mostly from racebirds tha are obviously still in the loft, and price wise... next to nothing, or gifts. I like a few too to replenish a bad season.

SENIOR MOMENT - An elderly lady actually wrote this letter to her bank. The bank manager thought it amusing enough to have it published in the Times and this newspaper thanks him most sincerely. Dear Sir, I am writing to thank you for bouncing my cheque with which I endeavoured to pay my plumber last month. By my calculations, three 'nanoseconds' must have elapsed between his presenting the cheque and the arrival in my account of the funds needed to honour it. I refer, of course, to the automatic monthly deposit of my Pension, an arrangement which, I admit, has been in place for only thirty eight years. You are to be commended for seizing that brief window of opportunity, and also for debiting my account £30 by way of penalty for the inconvenience caused to your bank. My thankfulness springs from the manner in which this incident has caused me to rethink my errant financial ways. I noticed that whereas I personally attend to your telephone calls and letters, when I try to contact you, I am confronted by the impersonal, overcharging, re-recorded, faceless entity which your bank has become. From now on, I, like you, choose only to deal with a flesh-and-blood person. My mortgage and loan payments will therefore and hereafter no longer be automatic, but will arrive at your bank by cheque, addressed personally and confidentially to an employee at your bank whom you must nominate. Be aware that it is an offence under the Postal Act for any other person to open such an envelope. Please find attached an Application Contact Status which I require your chosen employee to complete. I am sorry it runs to eight pages, but in order that I know as much about him or her as your bank knows about me, there is no alternative. Please note that all copies of his or her medical history must be countersigned by a Solicitor, and the mandatory details of his/her financial situation (income, debts, assets and liabilities) must be accompanied by documented proof. In due course, I will issue your employee with a PIN number which he/she must quote in dealings with me. I regret that it cannot be shorter than 28 digits but, again, I have modeled it on the number of button presses required of me to access my account balance on your phone bank service. As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Let me level the playing field even further. When you call me, press buttons as follows: 1-- To make an appointment to see me. 2-- To query a missing payment. 3-- To transfer the call to my living room in case I am there. 4-- To transfer the call to my bedroom in case I am sleeping. 5-- To transfer the call to my toilet in case I am attending to nature. 6-- To transfer the call to my mobile phone if I am not at home. 7-- To leave a message on my computer (a password to access my computer is required. A password will be communicated to you at a later date to the Authorised Contact.) 8-- To return to the main menu and to listen to options 1 through 8 9-- To make a general complaint or inquiry, the contact will then be put on hold, pending the attention of my automated answering service. While this may, on occasion, involve a lengthy wait, uplifting music will play for the duration of the call. Regrettably, but again following your example, I must also levy an establishment fee to cover the setting up of this new arrangement. May I wish you a happy, if ever so slightly less prosperous, New Year. Your Humble Client Addendum from The Editor: IMPORTANT to REMEMBER that this letter was written by a lady who is a 98 year old woman. DOESN'T SHE MAKE YOU PROUD!!! MY PRIVATE PART DIED An old man, Mr. Wallace, was living in a nursing home. One day he appeared to be very sad and depressed. Nurse Tracy asked him if there was anything wrong, 'Yes, Nurse Tracy,' said Mr. Wallace. 'My Private Part died today, and I am very sad.' Knowing her patients were a little forgetful and sometimes a little crazy, she replied, 'Oh, I'm so sorry, Mr. Wallace. Please accept my condolences.' The following day, Mr. Wallace was walking down the hall with his Private Part hanging out of his pajamas. He met Nurse Tracy. 'Mr. Wallace,' she said, 'You shouldn't be walking down the hall like that. Please put your Private Part back inside your pajamas.' 'But, Nurse Tracy I can't,' replied Mr. Wallace. 'I told you yesterday that my Private Part died. 'Yes,' said Nurse Tracy, 'you did tell me that, but why is it hanging out of your pajamas?' (You've gotta love this .) 'Well,' he replied, 'Today is the viewing.'

Well it seems that he can certainly tell things / advise and obviously is very sucessful money wise. But seems that - and especially this year, his birds aren't talking, indeed very quiet. POINT being made is that - Like I advocated on another topic to pigeonscout, that you needn't be good at any and everything to be good at somethngs and not so good at others. Yep 'The more sucessful the more he'd rather listen... common sense on the face of it... But my point exactly.
-
Good book by rep. Now as pigeonscout says, 'Listen to those most sucessfull' Pity that, for by all accounts, the Vet can't fly a bird very well.

Cockatiel mix will bring on great condition. Also high in carbs.

Been out 20 years ago... But would cost dear to set up.
