Only three words to beat a woman mucker....

So the reality is :-/ Help introduce eagle Owls. Set up a think tank.Increase Public awareness. Take personal legal action now to protect your birds! Join up with others like the SOS AND any other concerned peoples.. Badger the RPRA Etc. Badger and write to all the local MP's. And the EMPS. Have litriture to spout at schools and fetes etc. Sort out a PR Firm to use their think TANK, their' professional out look at hows best to go about it.... Use the corridors to the GOVERMENT, their channels to the media, and above all let them be our mouth piece in all and sundry in dealing with whoever and what ever on a Need to Know basis. Simple really! Remember a trip of a thousand miles takes just one step to start it.

Don't know if this is just a coincidence but.... 2007 - Chinese year of the Chicken - Bird Flu Pandemic devastates parts of Asia 2008 - Chinese year of the Horse - Equine Influenza decimates Australian racing 2009 - Chinese year of the Pig - Swine Flu Pandemic kills hundreds of pigs around the globe. Has any one else noticed this? It gets worse........ next year...... 2010 - Chinese year of the Cock - what could possibly go wrong? :o

Tend to agree with that Owen. We should ALL be concerned for ALL bird life whether we are personally involved or not I feel. Further, just look at the hedgerows desolated and devastated of the small birds. The finches, our back garden songsters, where their’ days are realistically very well numbered! And let us not make any mistake about that! And that’s for sure! No two ways about that. The Magpie just ravishes the nests none stop for starters. Egg and young alike are taken. Was a time when you only saw a magpie hanging on a fence or in a cage talking.... Yes and just the odd one here and there. Gosh the 'Dawn Chorus' is disappearing fast. Was a time when one just saw a wide variety of colourful chirping and singing birds, without EVEN trying? So yes we as bird lovers should, like Owen so rightfully says JOIN the Songbird society, another voice, another angle. Yes always pays to have more than one string to our Bow!

Yes I.B. Very true etc. etc. Yawn Yawn .... and in the mean time we stand idlly by and watch them feast on our birds at great costs, both money wise, emotionally and time effert. Give us a break. Why don't you do something better and worthwhile with your time than all these needless, dispondant put downs! :-/ :-/ :o Streuth next your be say that there is no legal way.... no don't bother to answer that, for we know different. Further we've all had enough of the crap from you and yje likes of RSPB and BOP, Raptures, hawk lovers. Far far better to help.... if you can't see clear to that, then may I humbly suggest you shut the 'Codswallop' up!
-
Again 'Just ask me' very very true. Besides there are, as anyone really interested knows, that one can take action. But, they'd rather not I guess!
-
Yep spelt it wrong ... had a 'Chrisse' moment lol ;D ;D But after the war Busseart was the only one nigh that would deal with Delbar apparently .... hence why he was so unpopular in Belgium.
-
Yep, upto a hour or so.
-
And 'just ask me' you are 110% correct. Any one that says differently needs an IQ test pronto. But, and relunctanty I fear too many can't, or won't etc. So I would say that have 2 or more strings to any bow has to have some advantagous points. Twiddly thumbs and whinging only gets them not neccessarily what they deserve, but is so true. In the mean time 30, 000 pigeon fanciers, 25000 sos, 40000 others interested concerns sitting down all the way from Trafalgar Square to 10 Downing street would make a few eyes open lol.... but it is just me, a dog and a couple of mates unfortunately.

Think Buesart had all the best.

Put a cardboard box on the floor of the widowers with a hole in one side. They will tel you which can go .... or not. And definately tel you your best bird this coming week - end.... if any.

YOU must do as you fear / feel! 'Act in haste and repent in leisure' springs to mind. Simply, if in doubt leave them out, for there is a certainty that if lost they won't be racing again. If hard race and needlessly sent instead of resting up, they will be finished for the season and that's for sure. So i would be inclined to rest them up and not send. Simple reason here again I like my birds on the roof tops... THEY tell you exactly what frame of mind, and condition they are in. t is abundantly clear if ailing, not on song etc. etc. Walk into the loft and none winking at you 'Forget it' If winking and has their make up on.... Pool them. Simple that really. Good luck i whatever you decide.

After, as stated, contacting the Save Our SongBird, I recieve a nice letter from them. Part of here. You are reflecting our own views about the RSPB and our charity receives masses of critical emails deploring the policies of RSPB. SongBird Survival has a long and honourable contact with the Racing Pigeon Associations - but we tend to argue our case based on a whole range of predators - not just raptors. The debate is hotting up in the media. We were on BBC Breakfast Television recently arguing with Mr Chris Packham. We are sponsoring serious research at the University of Reading aimed at demonstrating the flawed policies of the RSPB and others. We are sending you separately and please do keep in touch. .................................... Which I will, of course I will, stay in touch! I intend to give talks and such to Schools and anyone else that may be of an interest. the literature, I feel, will no doubt be of interest and value. Many more can do the same of course. Interesting how they differ in views. I feel perhaps, that the RPRA and such like other concerns that have problem with all BOP, Magpies etc. etc. should help each other and cater for everything likewise, and NOT just the very direct parts that affect them! :-/ :o Matches bound become stronger and harder to break. Had an ex pigeon fancier that is a EMP. Whom after I had contacting many NO ONE replied to him - and others - in regards of him / them towards helping our plight! :-/ Now that is a crying shame!!! Like my last heading blaming ourselves, very little has happened. Some of us are in contact and trying ... others is just idling time away twiddling their’ thumbs. Tell you what! Every time and any time nearly someone spouts about Hawks / Raptures / BOP etc. bleating and whinges I will be in their' face asking just what measures they are taking, will they be prepared to take, and just who do they THINK has the magic wand. I personally am very fortunate in that I have no hawk problem, but feel for all those that have!

quote=5276]YAWN! Tipical yank .... no staying power, poor concentration application, and interest lapse short lol ;D ;D
-
Yep, you possibly do. But best shut up I guess. Best to let sleeping dogs lie, and lying dogs sleep. Circumstances and different outlooks, beliefs and ages all have different views, rights and wrongs, what is or isn't acceptable etc. etc. So live and let live. And always remember one can always do without Tom, Dick or Harry .... but how much better with them :-/ Well sometime eh! So chin up and shut up with a whisle when it's down lol ;D ;D
-
At least you've got birds that fly, not generation removed bred for pretty colours! ;D ;D ;D Well s bit furthe away from 3 generations, if carried on racing and getting good crosses I don't care if the original was written with the doomsday book lol ;D ;D.... that matters not a jot lol.... and Am starting to collect and hopefully just race the pretty colours
-
Think that's a bit strong matey.
-
Yes owen, I agree. Every one must have the right to have final say in regards THEIR' pigeon. I know of thoses that say that they just neck them. Like you I would give them a slap. Once had a great little feral.... first in trapswhen scared, first bird back when tossed 60 miles. Mate came round and long story short said it was no good and necked it. He never came around for a while, and never came back. frankie Gearges loft manager came to my fathers to collect a stray. Asked my dad where the 'Dust bin' was after paying 50p - going rate was 3/6d -17 and a half p.- Dad said he'd be in it if he thought he was going to dispose of it here - especially in front of us kids.
-
Thought, like most, that put back into a fridge it is still ok for a while longer. :-/ Many, very many do this.
-
Sound a bit pananory that.... like my spelling. And time this codswallop was knocked on the head, such tripe. :o IF a bird goes into another loft, no chance is it ever going to get placed let alone win a race, so the ole *expletive removed* with 'Jealousy' is broiught up for no more reason that 'To bring it up' Who really gives a monkeys behind who wins in another Fed and part of the countru :-/ :-/ No one. If a three day race - and a fellow once reported straight away a bird, drove half way with it to Normanton, wehere another Fancier clocked it in .... Won, then the fellow that took it the 45 miles spouted out what a good deed he'd done, and how he'd help to win a race etc. The Owner was rightfully disqualified. What are we talking here. Chances of a bird going into another loft, and stopping it winning :-/ :-/ :-/ -Light Feed and water and chuck it out .... may clear, probably to settle on a roof nearby. Taking a rubber of to let the owner know it's been in another loft :-/ So what :o The owner has every right to know, and deal with in whatever way they think fit! Where is the malice, jealousy to an unknown fancier :o Where are we here Streuth! Asha, get over here and put some sense into these strange notions :o Had a bird - two actually in the last week, that when training, didn't want to come out the basket! Should have took them back. Knew that they weren't 'Up for It'. Yes lost one and the other was 3 days late from 20 miles.... Now the RPRA says, though haven't rea of late, that convoyers were / are to bring these birds back, and NOT to be like the old Train system of tipping them all out. Just how many of you see / hear of, or indeed know of any lately brought back for this reason :-/ :o Very few.... Suppose the convoyer has hidden agenda's here too - much more likely a scenario I think - But never hear it question now, or of late, and this is a far far great misdeed that any stray entering a loft.... Probaly one that didn't want to leave the basket in the first place :-/ :-/ :-/ So just where is the blame if any? Certainly not with any fancier going to the trouble of feeding and watering, caring for it - YS a flipping nuisance and a lot of time effert in housing away from the your birds and extra chore. So he takes the rubber of to let the fancier know I.e. a way of getting a unbeknown 'Thank You' and like Asha said too, and letting the owner know that for some reason it wasn't good enough on the day FOR WHATEVER reason! Now I use to say that 'No' because I FEARED THAT ONCE without the rubber you may be signing it's ..... warrent! But surely it also, and should tell the owner to look in the mirror. Replay the build up, and also the ability of that bird surely! :(

Do me that!

painting the inside of your loft?
Roland replied to chrisbonnie's topic in Lofts, Fixtures & Fittings
Painting is good.... Kills any and every breathing thing it covers. Even painting different colours inside for nest boxes is often done... Another good Idea I think. Likewise outside. I don't paint my outsides because they are either Plastic cladding, or plastic vents. All interchanging to allow what tempreture / air circulation I deem needed. So yes Painting is good, and should be dne every year.
