Seems that as they don't hunt, or fly much in rain unless needs be, that the worst time to release a couple would be just after rain stops or is in a lull, as B.O.P. are most hungry then as I have heard.

You have to speak as you find. I found John of Formula Loft to be at the top of tree in both as a person and breeder of excellent birds. A more honest and devoted fancier you couldn't wish to meet, or know! I bought in from his last sale, and am more than pleased. For, and many may recall, I had that fly away. He promised me 6 youngsters straight off if I stayed in the sport, which I did. No other one kept their' word. I have had the six promised. First chuck 25 miles, then 45miles or more in any and every directions and very regular. Then I chucked them into two races for experience... No I never bothered to clock any as they were only 120 miles North and then 112 miles South. Yes I still have all of them six. Likewise 75% of the stock birds of his youngsters. I know, and you all mostly will know, his birds are worth away above the prices he'll get at the sale. Further again what he sales direct. The mere fact that he is quickly got the 'Sold Out' signs up. So A. There will be many good buys there to be had, and got.... and B. Many disappointed would be buyers too I guess. And C. Very many will be wishing that they had bought into John’s birds. Good luck John… I shalln’t be buying in this year because have now too many stock birds now – need to off load 6 pairs, and too many race birds. For 2 – 3 reason I have to cut back or pack up. Health being the main reason.

Think delboy that you are on about something completely different. From Scotland to Kettering £35 is compare to others a good price if you want / or have to retrieve a bird 300 odd miles. Won't fit in a 5m envolope. Other do use SPD to retrieve for £12 or whatever thay agree to and then another £30+ to get it down to here or London. I bet SPD would be a darn site dearer if he delivered to London! And as for the pigeons worth, well that is another story.... But youngsters / stockbird will be going ove the borders both ways, and if you Bought 12 birds of Wiley, and they were delivered to you in good nick and via a good courier, I bet you wouldn't beat the £35 os Ksm.... and then even you would say, a Great deal, and a good price!

True Delboy, But at £35 that in it’s self is a great starting price to Scotland from where I am. And if I had 10 - 20 reported in Scotland and got them back for £35 then that again is far far below any price I have seen EVER! Yes even the Starting price. Saw one same price actually, but never went to Scotland, so that was just a eye catcher! With no £20 - £5 or whatever after the first 2 or 5 etc. this courier is by far the cheapest into Scotland with out a shadow of DOUBT! Let alone no extra charge for extra birds. Indeed this is, and has been on the biggest cripes of 'How come the extra £££££££££££'s for delivering to the same address'! Even if it was just 70p for extra etc..... They don't charge for Boxes. So yes Delboy, a great price, and above all a great service!

Try KSM couriers 01617976723 or 07854540947 it said on our Couriers listing. Paul and a few had had good results! So as I had tried one or two and more to get a pigeon back from Scotland I did phone them on Tuesady afternoon. Mark said they were up in Scotland next day and that they could cut across and pick up for me. I said I'd pay cash on delivery, no problem says he. I of course asked how much! £35, and this is regardless of number, is same price. - I think a lot would have an added bit, but don't know. I left full particulars. Matey said that they had contacted him... and supplied boxes free. Informed next morning that they were picked up. Arrived today at 10 : 15 safe and sound. First class, and great price. An easy to relate to and understand company. Yes I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Well done KSM

Well one thing for sure, let all those that wish to write, to voice their opinions etc. do so. Sooner, rather than later, they may well come to the realism that they are spouting to deaf ears that couldn't care less. What really suprises me is that some still hope, await the shiney wknight etc. Whilst the B.O.P problem escalates in leaps and bounds Well Let me tell you, the RSPB sand who ever cares to listen, if any attack my birds they won't come back the second time. Nor would I bother to relocate them.... Mind be nice to leave in another territory and see the B.O.P. there eating it. Yes they do and will and are just Scavengers when the occassion permits. But fed to fishes or worms doesn't really matter to me.

All time best was Garry Edmunds. A class above who could have held his own any where. Currently Barry Andrews, who is after 47 years still at the very top, and one season only ever flew W/H. After having his first birds off myfather he learnt and bought in Busearts, which he has flow nigh ever since. Was a spell when he changes - was ill, and for a few short seasons never really delivered. Bought back the Bussearts from Buther of Newark, and every other year from Louella. As he did again this year.

If I had own Shegar, I very much doubt I'd won the Derby etc. More likely been on the Fetes etc. charging 25p a ride. Many buy great guns, but never learn to shoot straight! So if his birds were the real McCoy, then yes they are very likely to be a good investment.

Yes of course. One big failing as history has proven, is that 'Merit' is under sold for a few pence. Has, and is the biggest killer of our sport, where the few able have been squeezing the no hopers of every pence that they could and have! Regardless how good a fancier is, mostly the wind decides where the winning location will be. Bigda made a statement that Ireland - which I also stated - IS THE FAIREST to all. Distance wise it is of course. Now will be a darn site harder for any Scottish loft to beat me in a North west or any west in the wind Especially as I may well be flying a tad shorter than better flyers! Now, like the Faros and Rome races the prestige - in my view - far out weighs any monetary gain! Of course it does. That is why some feds are sending each week more than most Nationals! Because they have got sharp to the fact that wasting £10 say on sending, and £10 on pooling will be, and is a darn site better, more logical than give to those better positioned. Is also the reason why many struggle to get on these committees to help, and are just a waste of time as they are out manoeuvred and out voted by those already in place lining and feathering their own nest. I.e. Get bigger and wider fronts to put their money into OUR coffers! Whereas if they had, did, or would have better and fairer section allowing decent and often better birds than those that actually winner the merit these birds deserve, then the nationals would have an almighty upsurge. But would mean smaller money for those bettered positioned.... though of course the winners would still be in the same locations. Why corridor fly chasing into the wind of the Liberation site would be a fairer and more intriguing aspect for 80% more of the fancy.
