    When

My 2 & 3 year olds have not seen a basket yet and wont till the weather improves. I had no intention of going yesterday with my team of yearlings and latebreds and have ruined what made it home to my mind as the temp never went above 7c. Its ok to say the winners made it so the rest should be there but you propose to put racing back a month and you will hardly be able to get a seconder. In future I will not be talked into "it will be a blow home" and its just lately I posted the weather forecasts are sh*t with all the modern tech they have at their disposal. Please dont insult my or your intelligence by posting the usual reply unless its constructive. Yeboah is one of the few who posts sensible and constructive comments.
  2. Sent 24 yearlings including late breds to Sedgefield for their second race 130 Mls. 16 home and nothing since 14.40..NOT a day for them by the look of things.
  3. First pair of swallows arrived here at Lock 16 F&C Canal on Monday 27th and been watching them every morning sweeping the canal when I am limping along with the dogs. Dont think their can be much feeding for them as its still bitterly cold and as yet they have not been lifting mud for nest building. The blackbirds in my garden are now building their second nest in another of my hedges after successfully rearing 3 youngsters in their first but unfortunately my Border X Patterdale terrier Jill has spied their endeavours and will be climbing up through the hedge to create havoc whenever my back is turned.
  4. Wellcome to the funny farm where answers to your questions will be disected by one and all with answers given with knowledge and experience also from people like me who keep "wondering where it all went wrong" :emoticon-0126-nerd:
  5. Took my fingers off the keyboard as that is my opinion too.
  6. Well done Dougie and hope your back gets better.
  7. The first treatment kills the worms but not the eggs. The second treatment kills the hatched eggs before they can multiply again therefore no problem. however I am the same opinion as Gulkie.
  8. my "711" due to lay so not sent this week.
  9. 2 from 2.. 100% from 2 races.

    Why

Why do we look at weather forecasts when they are mostly useless. Over the past couple of seasons we have had basketing put back 24 hrs due to an adverse report which has always proved wrong with good racing ensuing for those that ignored them. In my day it was Friday basketing regardless and yes we had the odd holdover but to my mind it was good basket training for longer races. I often wonder if the present set up affects National pigeons which in all probability have never spent more than 18 hrs in a basket when faced with 3 days in a basket.
  20. Personally I dont like racing when the temp is below 14c early in the season as I believe it takes its toll later in the season, So I have only sent 2 for something to do.
  21. Basketing put back 24 hrs
  22. Follow the signs for the EEC then Clydebank, Its well signposted on the left at Clydebank.
  23. AYE Davie too "Fn" fast fur mine.
  24. Living on the Forth and Clyde canal with a few old buildings around which they have frequented the last couple of years I have been here, nothing has arrived as yet. What I did notice the other morning was a very large flock of Geese head into the North West no doubt to their breeding grounds.
  25. In my opinion winning sprinters are advantaged by wind and especially loft location. They seem to be non winning sprinters as the distance increases and the loft location does not equate an advantge. :emoticon-0138-thinking:
