At 7.00am in Redcar there wasn't a cloud in the sky and noticed sun and moon out together - but it's clouding over now - showers forecast for this afternoon. It's cold though
-
Naw It's for men's problems, one's you wouldn't like to share with your wife
-
UNC are at Peterborough (146 miles)Saturday and it's the NEHU Futurity race on Monday from Buckingham (181 miles) the FUT rung young birds won't be going to Peterborough 16 for Saturday race 12 for Monday race - or thereabouts
-
The UNC has 6 liberations every week - 15 or 20 minutes apart - and sometimes it's one half of the trailer, with the other half of the trailer not liberated for atleast 15 minutes - not much fun there either
-
I agree with blackdog there's plenty of people out there who don't even race their young birds I've got a few young birds who have hit wires before racing started - and it doesn't look as if they will be ready for the last race - but I'm not bothered - and I wouldn't put them in a 60 miler at the end of the season if they weren't ready - I certainly wouldn't jump any youngsters into a 170 mile race (though I'm sure others would and do)and I haven't suffered any major losses with young birds Good luck in whatever you decide
-
It's not approved in the UK So you might have a problem
-
Birds faster than expected Tony - we're doing 53mph South Road 24/27 in 35 minutes

Looks like more WNW than WSW then? Thanks for putting this on

Thats very good of you Annika to help out a young bird - 2010 ring does mean it hatched out sometime this year It is fortunate to have met a caring person such as yourself to take good care of it - well done
-
Guess I doubt that it will be 'up and running' in the foreseeable future as it looks like there has not been much more done to the site looking at the date of the updates (twitter was Dec 2009)
-
It tells you on the old pigeonbasics website what it is for - and is what I had previously written
-
Wasn't that going to be the new site to put the race results on?
-
One of our old birds broke just above the ankle - it was splinted - but kept coming off - so was allowed to heal naturally - however the bones 'healed' side by side, it's the ETS ring leg - and the ETS ring stands on top of the lower bone - not ideal - the ETS ring had to be removed to allow to heal because of the original swelling So do keep your eyes on the swelling

Glad I'm in the Up North Combine There's far too many people not taking the vaccinations seriously enough And even more not bothering When I was at Blackpool this year, someone from Essex sat on our table at the hotel and got into conversation with us and said 'who vaccinates their birds anyway' err - we do, everything, stock birds - the droppers, made me feel like I was the only person in the world who did - and that very few RPRA members did, just signing the forms themselves and not actually vaccinating - just asking for trouble in the Up North Combine - it is properly organised (the other NEHU organisations are different) we have to have our birds vaccinated by 1st March - old birds and 21st June young birds - 4 weeks before the start of each season - and vaccinating the year before as old birds does not count - as the yearlings would not be protected for the whole of the old bird season - and if they are not vaccinated by those dates they cannot mix with other birds until 4 weeks after they have been vaccinated - which means that you can miss a lot of racing There is an official vaccination form from the combine - and only that can be used - there has to be 2 witnesses - AND signed by the club secretary or a vet and stamped by them
-
V1JSL - the quickest way to get in touch with the NEHU and get a reply - is by e-mail - where has the pigeon been reported?
