starting to get excited about the london olympic games 2012,what are your thoughts of a uk race from maybe the netherlands or germany with maybe one of the uk nationals taking on the organisation of the race where all fanciers in the uk can compete,could the snfc or nfc take control.??? :) :)

have raced the doos with my dad since i was a wee boy and the doos are the only thing we really get on about, we both love the races over 300mls and more so the nationals,have never thought of giving up the birds although we have had a few kicks in the teeth these last few years this only makes us all the more keener.

yes we certainly had some great times and races back then in the fed and combine del, we just need to get busy with the social circle and of course the national. ;) ;)

Jim she was bred by bhw scribe and pal john harwood,john had the nest mate grizzle cock "jittery jim"who won the shu trophy for best young bird in scotland and went on to score at the national as an old bird,he was a bit nervy about the loft hence the name,i just called the hen "jittery jill" as a youngster and like her brother she won well for me and dad. :) :)bloodlines were our old grizzle line,martin & king shotts and johns good janssen lines. :) :)

will be using my old stbs as per usual.

i think it is a great wee painting and very different from the usual photos of doos we get,i think in all fairness at the time i could not afford for jim hannah to take a photo. :D no kiddin m8 great work and much apprecited,and yes she was a lovely hen. ;)

Have included a painting by ma pal he did a few years back,the bird was 1st club 1st section 1st fed(only bird in fed on day)2nd amalgamation Lille 473 mls 1227 birds.2000 i have been sorting out all my pigeon paperwork at my parents which takes up a full room and i am allegedly throwing some of it out lol thought this was a bit different and have really enjoyed this painting over the years,done by a pigeon basics member.????????? :) :)

just watched a scottish boy win international wipeout on the bbc wearing a kilt and he was from glasgow,so good day right enough. :scotland: :scotland:

think that was bobby and hugh kennedys dad and uncle in the first post "coronation express" result.

an old fancier a mile along the road from our loft sent many times to palamos and san sebastian and had birds recorded,when visiting him one day i asked him why he had no water in the loft and he said he just let the doos fly down to the burn for a drink. :o great memories. answer to your question lewis i think 630ish is racing doos!!!!!!!!!!!! me and dad were lucky enough in the 80s to time 3 birds in 90 mins from 614mls with the SNFC on the shift in what turned out a fast race. :) more memories.

some great names on there,previous and future national winners and also sons and grandsons of these guys winning all through the years. :emoticon-0157-sun: great stuff lewis.
