It wont be long before all the theories regarding the wing steps, the length, the tight vents, eyesign, etc etc etc are oot the window when the racing starts lol
I agree 100% with you regarding the bop Derek I think they are the root cause of the majority of erratic races and heavy losses.I started with about 10 ybs in 1971 and two from that batch flew the channel five times each always the next day but that was down to my inexperience in preparing them properly. Derek I sent 12 pigeons to the 1982 Rennes race which was a very fast race I had three on the shift and had 11 home out of twelve by the next day. That would never happen these days and there is a reason for that.
Basically local blood, he mother was 71st sect Rennes the year before and she was 50% Fraser of Eaglesham. Her father was a 1971 cock that flew the channel 5 times for me when I was a teenager and was bred by my school pal, in those days you did not keep many pigeons but the ones you had earned there perch every year they were raced to the bitter end.lol
Great stuff clockman here is a photo of her she flew rennes on the day the following year but I reckon if a better pigeon man had her she would have done a lot better as I was 22 at the time and as rough as *expletive removed* round the edges lol.
I once met your brother while working on a building site in sandihills near Glasgow he was a joiner if my memory is correct the year was 1981 I think the reason I know was that I had timed from a very hard Rennes the next morning and I thought it would be too late to make the result but he said I would get on the result and he was correct.
So whats new its the same every year but nothing gets done about it IMO the first week in may is early enough????.The climate in these parts has changed for the worst and is here to stay for the next hundred years lol. Scrap these silly comeback races and start a few weeks later.
Here is a true story regarding a ( Pigeon talk in) held in the olde club in tannochside a good few years ago. One of the guys on the panel had a good result from Nantes that year and to be honest it was his one and only decent result that year. He claimed he would not use CLO as it made his pigeons to sluggish. I had won 24 fed tickets that year USING CLO I felt like shouting out YOUR TALKING A LOAD OF CRAP but with me being a gentleman I held my tongue.
There is *expletive removed* all wrong with CLO if used in moderation is hormoform not full of CLO. I have used CLO over the years and have had some good years using it.
Great stuff ,johns been at the top for a few years now and I think Aldo Thompson races johns pigeons and does really well in the Newmains club with them well done to both guys.
