Mate I get YBS every fecking year and I have never been on the darkness and my pigeons don't come from darkness pigeons its a virus Adeno virus is one which causes it and there are about 10 different strains of this virus that's why they cant make a vaccine for it . Circo virus is the other one which affects ybs I am told it is more serious than adeno, by the way some folk widnae know if they had YBS if it jumped up and bit them on the buttocks expletive remove.

My droppings were negative for worms cocci and the swabs were negative for canker and yeasts so I never treated for anything.

Their response is second to none.

They pulled many a filling out lol.

By the way don't take what I am asking the wrong way as I might have to use the Transporter for training. The trailer I have has grills fitted in every shelf so there is no contact with droppings and if a pigeon is sick then the other pigeons cant get to it as the grills are too deep,plus I spray it out regular with virkon S but even after all these precautions its practically impossible to stop the spread of an airbourne virus and that goes for any transport where pigeons are in a confined space ATB the new season.

Gareth I admire your confidence but can I ask again How are you going to calculate the costs of wear and tear to these vehicles??? or will this be deducted from the profit margin if there is any???

Started training this morning with most of the usual guys and went to pick up at uddingston club premises where there were guys turning up to train with the transporter which unfortunately had been cancelled. I took what I had on board and we a great wee first toss it was a bit cold but it could be next month before the weather warms up so do you wait until then to start training????? what crosses my mind is will this fed training be financially viable when you take EVERYTHING into consideration????? EG Diesel costs,, drivers to be paid, wear and tear on these new transporters which is very hard to calculate plus the competition which is around Lanarkshire with training trailers which have been going for years and have served the fanciers well over the years I suppose time will tell.

Where I am there are plenty of them nesting on factory roofs.There is a guy that comes with his falcon to chase them away they go off their heads when this falcon does its stuff but as soon as it comes back to the guys hand they come back to their nests a waste of time if you ask me the best way to get rid of these menaces would to have a cull on them.I have had plenty bad traps with the ybs due to the noise from these gulls it spooks the ybs.

Very sad news.

I am hoping this year we will be back to some kind of normality with two good tosses a week after the racing starts along with the newmains van with aldo at the wheel. Meldons on a tues and Innerleithen on the Wednesday suits the guys in my club.
