  3. alan you get your daughter to drop you off here and i,ll give you a lift home again no probs . youd be like a bairn ina sweetie shop out in bobs and like you say a realy nice guy who what he dosent know about doos is not worth knowing . and at 85 years young has the attitude that hes still learning a proper gent.
  4. alan your right bob was one of the first to bring in the ko nipios doos think it was in 1966 he still has a section full of them realy nice doos like peas in a pod they do need a cross though they are very inbred now . he also has what he calls the old milly doos and alan if you want i,ll easy take you out sometime no probs.

  10. the wife is going to buy me a microscope for my xmas . what one would be the best for me i,ve never used one before also what book or dvd should i get for learning myself . thanks robbie
  11. dont think it has nothing to do with the coast alan i think hes not the only flier on it . and by the way i dont see your thoughts on which birds you think would be the best . i would say something else but dont want to spoil the thread .
  12. alan robert barclay flies them he won the fed averages two years in a row with the mardon van reets . and in my opinion he is the best flier in our fed they maybe just suit his system .
  13. i agree with tony c you here peolpe saying i,ve got the best of this and the best of that a massive percentage of winning is the man and his man management you could get the best of any strain but but if you cant work them its no good . by the way if i had to pick one strain of sprinters it would be van reets .
  14. would like to see the irish win but cant see it you never know though luck of the irish
  15. delboy a midday lib would be great for us boys up here . i know there has been some cracking fanceirs names mentioned but do they fly the 6 to 700 mile like the thread asked no . everybody knows a 600 mile doo is harder to come by than the 500 mile doo . so wheres the best 6 to 700 mile doos they are up here in the north section were the only ones to fly it different doos altogether and jim donaldson,s loft has the best of them. JMO
  16. your right there black wf there was a fanceir from up here that moved down to the south of the country to win the national and guess what he won the national good on him . donaldson is a one off think he has only failed to time in once in the last ten year from across the pond
  17. disagree with you there delboy . there has been some and still is some top flyers up here at the distance . hopefuly i,ll be the next one it wont be for the lack of trying .there is no one in this country in donaldsons leauge and remember we fly 600 mile plus up here not 4 to 500 mile .
  18. i think ernie goodyear has some aswell .
  19. the man has no equal in long distance racing. i got told a story about him a couple of weeks ago george ritchie of the ritchie and whyte partnership went through to see jims doos about 15 year ago after seeing and handling jims doos george said that jims doos are pure class and he will be at the top of the class at long distance racing for the next 30 year how right was george .
  20. its also down to what the fancier prefers sprint - middle or long i race my doos on the natural for the first 4 races until we get to the 200 mile mark then put them on the roundabout my doos dont do them self justice flying natural in the short races but as soon as we get to the 200 mile mark when there on the roundabout its like flying different doos . so its a combination of things . fanceirs preference of distance - loft location and system jmo
  21. loft location plays a big part aswell especialy in the short races
  22. it could be down to a time thing with a small team your able to spend more time with them and observe what there doing but a big team flier cant do the same . i never knock anybodys birds it could be the fancier good birds in the wrong hands .
  23. i,m the same as delboy donated 2 from my best to bluecock . phoned alan ritchie (banff) hes not on here but would like to donate 2 youngsters to the cause . this man has class doos i got 3 from him in 07 1 has won from 483 mile another from 489 mile 1st fed 2nd section snfc eastbourne .
  24. ian is there any chance of adding robertson road day care center its for people with learning disabilitys . they are also kind enough to let our pigeon club have a room for taking out the result on a saturday night and it would be nice to give them something back involving the doos .thanks robbie.
