  5. Happy Birthday guys. TED WHERE ARE YA???? Sue :K)
  6. It's early days I know but, I've just gone on to Easibed - about 3" deep - I rake and sieve it every day and I much prefer the look to scraping the floor and using loft white. I've even put a layer in each nest box so it's easy to scrape them out daily. Think I'm a convert.........so far! The birds love it too.......I spent ages getting it all level..... only to find them digging and throwing it everywhere! ;D ;D
  7. Bruno - they look like old fashioned carpet underlay - I'll buy some of the latex ones for the next round.
  8. Thanks Tammy 1. Westy, I used themn because I have clay bowls and I thought they would be too cold for the babies. I also put in straw and pine needles - just to make sure!! : ;D
  9. I've used nest felts I was given for my first round - there were no problems with them but, do you discard them or reuse? I've just given them a shake and the new eggs are on them but...??? :-/
  10. It's hard to imagine how it lost the ring - they take some uncoiling! :-/ Glad you got it back.
  11. There is a white paint sold for painting panes in a greenhouse - should adhere to plastic roof - lets light in but would stop hens seeing cocks.
  12. Thanks Linda and Shelbin. :K)
  13. Thanks Speight..............do we call cocks and hens 'sire and dam' on a pigeon pedigree? Sue :K)
  14. I'm weaning mine on Thursday Linda.......how much baby milk will you put in the water? Also do you leave food down for them all day or twice a day? :-/ :-/

    Hatching

I'm new to pigeons, this is the first time I've bred any. I just went along with the advise given by a fancier friend. Celtic......my birds laid a second round when their youngsters were 22 days old.

    Hatching

I treated (well a friend did) for cocci, canker and worms - managed a disappointing 50% hatch rate. They are all (all four pairs) on eggs again and I'm hoping for more success this time.
