with our fed yb season at an end. looking back on it it has been my best yb season racing.i started with 44 i have 3 that took hits 23 that have raced from 60 miles to 216 miles.i had 1 or 2 in fed result each week bar 1 race. not all the 18 birds where lost racing as had the bop hear a few times. the thing i did different from before are.my yb,s where out all day flying to open bowl.birds got trained twice before 1st race 2 x 10 mile on the Wednesday and Thursday then 1st race 2x10 miles 2nd race 2x10 miles 3rd race 1x10 miles 4th race 1x 10 miles 5th race 2x10 6th race. birds got their main 10 miles on the thursday afternoon or morning if i could not get a lift. birds would be out flying before going 10 miles or if in morning out flying after it.birds would not be out flying on a friday birds feeding was a mix of 20k bag breed and wean 20kbag all rounder 10 k of high protein.feed on sat /sun/mon/tue/wed/ high carbohydrate mix i used versa laga super widowhood mix feed on thu/fri. i did not scrip on feeding checking that all had eaten their fill and only a few bits left in hoppers.also when i take yb,s and put them in the yb section if yb,s go in to the 3 old bird sections when out flying i leave them their.i let them decide where their most happy to race to and less stress for them.a lot of them stay in yb section bUt not all.this will not be the best way to train and race yb,s.for me it was easy and simple yb,s not flying gauntlet and all the stress that goes with it with daily long training.i also stayed competitive each week with natural yb,s and their yb education was as stress free as i could make it.also a few quid saved on petrol

with the yb season getting near the end we have all lost yb,s racing.hear is the number of birds our fed members in midlothian fed sent racing this year.their is a rise and fall in numbers.it does not mean that all the birds not sent the next again week got lost .as a lot of fanciers stop a lot of yb,s.it would be good if any member can put up their fed birdage and distance for yb racing.their is a fair drop in birds sent .a lot of them would have been lost dew to bop attacks (tyson could add the day birds got attacked coming out baskets as can,t mind the race).their will also be birds lost that are not up to the job.our fed races from south to north. 1st race otterburn 28th july 1287 birds aprox 55 to 70 miles 7am lib WSW wind 2nd race otterburn 11th aug 2078 birds aprox 55 to 70 miles 11.15 lib ESE wind 3rd race consett 18th aug 1935 birds aprox 80 to 95 miles 13.15 lib WSW wind 4th race thirsk 25th aug 1282 birds aprox 130 to 145 miles 8.00 lib NW wind 5th race bubwith/selby 1st sep 999 birds 160 to 170 miles 11.00 lib WSW wind

HE WILL GET FASTER WAIT AND SEE

i was at a fanciers loft a while back.looking at his ets he told me been checked by club and sealed.then he swiched it on and said watch this. he put some birds out as birds came in to land still flying the ets went beep beep.picked up the ets ring clocked it and the bird had not landed yet.
-
then yours is wrong.if you look at mine on both fed sheets you will see why
-
i know birds will drop a place or 2. as members with the wrong distance in will get about a mile plus added. think it was a good 1 with the rule will catch one or two of them.like a lot of fanciers if you read it on a computer it must be true
-
rule are rules at least my 2 birds will move up a place or 2
-
i see rule 3B section 1 A in the midlothian fed rule book.it says any club putting in wrong distances for any of it,s members at any fed race.will be disqualified from federation result
-
will get it checked in morning.
