it,s that time of year again when all the local talk is about the up and coming xmus race from morpeth the Saturday before xmus.it is the 19th year for the race with a guaranteed 1st prize of £500 plus trophy. it is a very competitive race .the birdage is not very big with 200 to 250 approx with 49 different lofts sending last year.you can see how it gets local fanciers excited.it has never been won twice by the same pigeon and no fancier has won it 2 years in a row. last years winner young david brown has high hopes this year as he was telling me yesterday .with the hen that won last year bred by harky and put in to charity sale on hear a bargin for david. also a daughter of this hen which david tells me is a very nice young hen.last years winner picked up £1,287,50 in pools and prize money.their will be 1or 2 same way bred as last years winner going this year raced by myself plus some others.the xmus race is always wide open and a few good fanciers this year i think to watch out for would be j robertson w kinnear and son s a s tierney d valentine and the fancier with most wins at it j bell to name only a few.it will be wide open and anyone's race. worth taking note of last years winner bought at a charity sale on hear.1 of the many good birds bred by members on hear to help raise funds for charity

you have not said anything against bull breeds that is not true.it is true that when a bull bred does lose the plot it is like a shutter goes down on them.it takes more than a fair bit to stop them. the damage that can be done from one loseing the plot is scary.my mate next door has american bull dogs. a few weeks back 2 of them started ripping lumps out each other.he stepped in to split it up .1 of the dogs nicked him by mistake.he got 14 or 16 stiches the blood was spraying out of him.that was just 1 tooth that caught him. i have seen my 2 snap bones that most other dogs would be all day at.the strength in their jaws is incredible especially the ones with the square box like head .like the black and white 1 in photos. some bull breeds have the strength to pull cars when harnessed to do so. if i had realized more the way a lot of dog owners and other people look at the bull type breeds and their quick way of thinking the worst of their owners, also the amount of work needed to train them properly . i don,t think i would have my 2. now that i have had them for 5 years i find them loyal trust worthy to the point i have trained them to.

i have 2 that are classed as bull breeds i would trust both with any child or adult.as when both where young pups i used the local kids to help train them.one of the kids that taught them hell work on the lead has teacher collins disease.some days their where up to 8 kids in front garden taking turns each to get them to sit give a paw ect.i could not totally trust the black and white 1 with other strange dogs as she is very dominant.she is also very protective of small children babies.that much so that even if i make out i am going to grab 1 of the grand kids.she soon puts herself between them and me and lets me know she is not happy with my carry on.she has shown that within minute or 2 of meeting a baby she would protect them.i for 1 could not have a dog if i could not trust them a 100% with children .2 old photos of them

that graph will be spot on with the dogs on it.most dogs trained properly from a young age can be trained to be good with children adults and other animals.it is a bit harder to train male dogs of the breeds on the graph but it can be done.one of the best things to help train a male dog from the breeds on graph is to have them castrated.no 4 on graph German shepherds have the record for biting the most people in uk yearly .their so easy to train it shows you how many owners don,t put in the time that is needed to train their dog

good post owen bar 1 thing i don,t think any bird at the end of old bird or yb season is a waste of food.if my birds are good enough to still be hear after the questions put to them through racing then well worth feeding.sometimes some of us myself included can forget why we have birds.yes we all like to win and it puts a smile on our face when we do. if it was just down to that winning i don,t think i would have birds.it is when you get that smile when the non winners turn in .like a wee mealy pied hen my favorite yb this year.later bred so thought the last race 216 mile bit far still sent her i know stupid. all home bar her kicking myself and moaning about sending her.then over 2 weeks later she homed well worth a feed.
