  1. Thanks for the BICC news Rose Worcester Fed at Wincanton : 11:15 in a Lt Northerly. No excuses today
  2. Looks decent day for once.. Nice headwind for 'em to get stuck into. Plenty of Feds at Wincanton though....
  3. Not so sure how pivotal an issue it is though. Granted if you offered it me, i'd probably take it - but these pigeons I've verified have all been done within 24 hrs of winning a national & I've had to search through the feathers to find the skin,. let alone anything else. "technically" you'd say they weren't "bang on" but the performance is still there Mike

  5. Worcester Fed at Wincanton - 118 miles
  6. Anybody got any experience of the Wim Moens or Louis Cooremans ??
  7. It takes two to tango so they are equal in every regard at our loft when it comes to selecting who goes to who
  8. I'd be inclined to race the programme through with them - providing they're fit & in good feather & health of course. Not about the quantity you keep, but the quality & you'll only find that out on a Saturday.
  9. Thanks Hyacinth - me thinks we'll need it ! Wish it was 2 year olds .................. Do I have to nominate the particular race (i.e say 5th July) or forward the best effort from that racepoint if we race from there on more than one occasion? Sorry for all the questions.... Mike
  10. You can give cider vinegar 5 ml per litre for a restricted amount of time - burns the liver if you overdose.. You CAN though give it at 5ml per 2 litres for up to 6 months with no adverse affects Mike
  11. OK... It'll be Yelverton, but i'll have to forward the distance to you tomorrow. That's our nearest to 200 miles I guess.
  12. Can I ask you to remind me of the rules. i.e over how many races are the birds judged on, & is it from "the chosen racepoint".. Our nearest race to 200 miles I think we'll only race from once this season. Does that count??? Mike
  13. Just keen that's all .... :D
  14. we use lukewarm water
  15. Hyacinth Our ring numbers are :- GB 2005 P 33181 GB 2005 A 41644 Gb 2005 P 33183 What do I do about distances? I don't think we havea race as far as 200 miles this season Mike
  16. The anticipation of the first bird ...........
  17. I've lost count of the National winners I've verified with scaley skin etc... I never look at the breastbone now to be honest.
  18. Dave - Certainly I can guarantee the latter. None of our birds ever have lice/mite & we bath in vinegar 52 weeks a year - certainly doesn't harm condition either
  19. Sent you a PM Stu
  20. Finished 14th Fed against 4204 birds. Another one for Houdini
  21. leave it with me stu - i have it at the lofts. I'll PM you later Mike
  22. Saddler - I appreciate what your saying, but I agree with Frank. Patience is a virtue. Don't try to "force" the issue - it'll only be detrimental. Boing Boing Mike ps - what you think of chrissy nicol returning then?
  23. Finalised Fed result tomorrow. About 25 Clubs in so far and we're 13th against 4,000+ birds. Good effort I thought 'cos it was completely the wrong wind for us. Another 10 clubs or so still to come in yet.
  24. Little words of wisdom mate !
  25. Jordan - when the baby is about 17 days old put another bowl in the nestbox for the parents
