Aye John I think its the same hen sparra hawk thats in the woods across the road fae ma hoose. I lost 3 doos to it last winter its a basa.. Ive not had any my birds out all winter I find its the only way I can beat it and still have all my birds safe .

Most sparrow hawk attacks usually happen when the birds are are stationary on the top of the loft /bathing/on the ground . Never seen an attack with a sparrow hawk when the birds are in flight. The hen birds does most of the killing and uses ambush and surprise tactics . A very cunning and nasty piece of work with no fear of man .
