Same ours Tommy takes years to get it right ,some a longer than others lol.

As far as I've been told it's half/half then back to full horseman ..so they are 25% racer .there the best ones according to my mate .

I've never had black rings since 1977 ,I've seen NEHU black a few years back but not SU ,or GB for that matter.

Some breed the homer(racer) into them which will range much further from home loft and return ,if they are full horseman they don't have much in the brain department and will prob go into the first pouter loft they come across if they venture too far away . Ps there are always exceptions .as some smart ar she's will no doubt post .

I've seen my neighbour getting one Friday night and breaking it on the Sunday ,they go out with their hen or cock first few flights then their out to catch or be caught .

There are some breeders of pouters ,mostly they don't fly in competition with other flyers , they keep the young till there through moult (adult) then they get sold .

Can I also point out that most of the big doo men(pouter men) don't breed youngsters or have them in there lofts nearly every one prob 99% are adult birds .

Just about every pouter men that I know John here in the port and in Glasgow now vaccinate for paramixo and some vaccinate again paratyphoid to as the lofts are rife with problems every year and my near neighbour tells me of big problems in Greenock every year just about every loft gets problems . My neighbour has been free from anything for the last number of years. I vaccinate his every year in January for him and he gives his wattie boswells potion which has kept them spot on .

Hi Ryan come on the gunners lol. I know a guy that gives his birds peanuts at 21:30 every night hoping that his birds would put in an extra effort to get home at night ,he used to do very well from France .

but loft location helped with that , there is a few guys up there ,if the nationals were still one and Peter was doing what he's doing just now in a one big national then yes I would say he's the best , outstanding fancier and on hearing the ( this is your life tribute) at the SNRPC outing it's absolutely incredible what he's done with his pigeons . Country mile no.
