  1. hey buddy we know this but we dont say that you have it easy do we, as vince says start taking the medication again
  2. what a lot of crap, as some one else says 500 miles is 500miles no matter were you fly, as for ireland yes they have got to cross two stretches of water but most dont fly 500miles or just 500miles from their race points, the scottish birds fly 550 -650 miles most of their races
  3. i was'nt that lucky mate nobody in my family had raced pigeons before me ,and when your only 13 when you start you cant ask your mum and dad to buy you everything ,after all they bought me birds ,clock ,basket, drinkers etc to get me started , it was'nt bad as i knew how to build a loft even at 13 , i was always destined to be a joiner
  4. i'll have a look upstairs i might still have an old issue or two
  5. old yellow was it not called racing pigeon gazette?
  6. breeding at this time of year with not enough daylight hours the young tend to have frets, i prefer to breed later when theres more daylight ,the young dont have to go all night without feeding maybe 12/15 hours or so unless you put lights on till about 22:00 hrs even then it's still 9/10hrs of darkness meening no feeding for that amount of time
  7. i'll try and find out for you today, its a renfrewshire bird
  8. thats correct jimmy ,but a lot of peters top pgeons just now are aarden or aarden based, his no1 stock cock at the moment is a g/son of invincible spirit.
  9. what have you been reading ,there's been a few off pt that have scored , but a lot of pv's winners are now jan aardens, one really good un bred by the late john fairbairn co'path a blue cock i think it has a 2nd open ,a 3rd open and a 6th or 7th open to its name , a cracker of a doo
  10. thanx john was'nt sure if it won or not but agree top pigeon
  11. sounds like a cock mate
  12. usually if the splashes are black its a cock and if its brown its a hen ,BUT its not always the case, i have a red cock 3yrs old and has brown splashes just like your red bird
  13. yes you are but come off it, its a bit disrespectful to other top men to say he was best by a mile,i bet len would'nt say that
  14. frank1 ask budgie on here he knows a lot about this disease,he was telling me about it at blackpool, andy will keep you right
  15. horses for courses mate.
  16. not right mate definately a buschaert, i'll speak to peter virtue and ask him, im sure he told me it was a buschaert, van loons /lafeber dhenens would'nt fly 500 miles in a hard day like it was when peter thorpe excelled.
  17. oldyellow correct me if im wrong but was peter thorpe not a buschaert?
  18. correct ,it was p thorpe who bred the bird thats why peter named him peter thorpe
  19. peter virtue is without doubt one of the best ,in recent years flying with the snrpc his results are amazing ,when most are still waiting on a time in peters only waiting on one or two from a team of 10/12.Even before the split he had fantastic results as well winning 1st open beauvais ,then another 1st open i think with peter thorpe? a fantastic pigeon.
  20. can't disagree mate but there is loads of names ,incuding the late andrew deans , jock allen,w&m wilson ,j bunch you could go on and on ,
  21. HOW can you say that ,not that im saying len is not another great flier ,but best by a mile , jock you need to get out more , i think dementia is setting in
  22. there was an advert in bhw last week or the week before
  23. i have tried a couple of tourniers again as last post a few minor prizes , not bad from two, but one thing i noticed when i was at the breading station in antwerp was the birds dont look happy, i dont like to see that in birds
