  1. you will find its 34/36p per race but when it gets a bit farther it would go up significantly, we find that once payed, then no more weekly birdage charge, then more money goes on the pools.
  2. birds on bread and water alf?
  3. kirky this is basedon say average 40p /birdfor all inland races thats about 380 odd miles an average 10 birds/ race at 16 races is £64 and 10 birds/week is not mob flying mate.
  4. well i will try it first on one i dont like just in case ,im heavy handed:)
  5. thats a new one on me and ive been at the birds since 1977, ill give it a go this year see how it goes
  6. glasgow fed is £100 that incudes fed membership fee , 10 taining tosses on transporter 5 for old and 5 for young, and all inland races including wanstead flats , and maidstone, i think 16/17 races as many birds as you like
  7. have you ever seen the test kit you can buy , its a piece of thread and a leadshot from an air rifle , seemingly you hold it above the bird if it goes back and forward its ? or if it goes round its ? im not sure what was what
  8. graham is that including the inland nationals?
  9. there was a race in 1983 1st or 2nd week in may we were at garstang and it snowed on the friday about 4inches up here and it was still laying on the saturday but the birds went and guess what 100% returns crazy is'nt it and yet summers day nice and warm and you get a disaster

  11. im talking about their so called secrets , they would like you to think they are doing something but doing another :)are you getting into kilsyth?
  12. go to AGM and ask for some longer races or get another organisation that goes further to take your birds(trainers) why twist/bend the rules ?
  13. jack you are only one of maybe three that has said this is ok that would be about i guess 5% so maybe 95% say this is wrong so can you not see that this IS wrong

  18. well they suspended leslie (the banker) davidson from greenock years ago for writing that the birds were picked up on a friday night by a tattie lorry, the fed did so and the SHU upheld it
  19. i bet some people have actually tried that mate :)
  20. . i never said i seen them , a mate saw them coming out baskets so it was trainers and there is NO open races in my part of the world mate not that early anyway
  21. my yearlings might get paired up in a month then the following month the old bird will go on, it all depends on weather/ work etc as i like to get them settled quickly and in and out there boxes with no fighting no fighting shakira shakira lol
  22. everybody to their own mate , but to train at this time just to try and win a race is desperation dont you think fletch(chevy chase)
  23. i will only train my yearlings 1 week before first race most of the old birds for accross the water will not see the inside of a basket till about the 4thor5th race 150/190 miles . the guys not worth it ,he actually said once after a bad race when everybody was up in arms, that it was ONLY pigeons no need to get carried away
  24. i would say no jimmy , even a lot of old breeds have a bird here or there in the pedigree, joe 61 will probably say yes to this lol
