  1. Forgot to mention in last post, don't forget to give the birds some electrolites to compensate for the fluid loss and put minerals etc back into their system.I use two types vita combo and harkervit plus.A good web site to have a look at is. the australian pigeon com.co. Just write it into Google.Lindsay C.
  2. The only way to be sure is to have the droppings tested,if you have to send them away they won't show canker because they will have died.Throat swab is the best idea if you know anyone local to you who has a microscope and will assist.Don't be frightened to put 0.5ml of domestos in a drinker (if you have nonifura mycin),this would clear any bacterial prodlems. For Cocci, boycox can be given any time as it is not absorbed by the gut and does not affect the birds digestive system. As for canker there are several good products on the market,if you use cider vinegar regular this may assist keeping most probs. away because of it's acid content. If you have problems getting the tests done,I find that if your birds are feeding young and are dirty feeders i treat for canker,if the droppings are dark green and geasy cocci. This is only what i have found over the years, but if pos DO NOT treat your birds without tests. My opinion only. Hope it helps.Lindsay C. PS.What part of the Country do you come from.
  3. I've been lucky and won Lessay 06 and 08 but unlucky and lost the cock that won both races, ive sorted a couple of pair out for this season and with a bit more luck and good management i'll do it again. This season we have two Lessays. i'll win one, two's a bonus.the birds i have chosen will go to most inland races if they are sitting in the correct position and there's no daft weather forecasts,i'm not frightened to jump them if required.Lindsay C. ps .here's a couple of them.
  4. Very nice mate, good clean feeders aswell.
  5. Used them for years, know Ray very well use to live a couple of mile away from me,got to know Gary through Ray.Luckily my local corn shop sells all Garys products.Gary also screens droppings etc and lives at Skerton Lancs.I especially like his bitter digestive stimulant powder for young birds,i think it assists clearing YBS.

  10. Hi Denny,i don't know if this will help but here goes.My racing lofts face S.East and my house.Along the left hand side of the loft there is a six foot wall, right hand side is next doors garden. The only time my birds are allowed to be on the roof/ garden wall is when they are very young and just find there bearings. After that they get booted off, anything that persists in the bin.Lindsay.

  12. same here mate keeps them on their toes.
  13. Apart from traps and (poison which a registered mole catcher would have to use),i believe you can get ultrasonic mole deterents similar to the ones pigeon fanciers use.Try Dazer they'll be at Blackpool or put it into Google see what comes up.

  17. I hope i'm not digging a hole for myself BUT why haven't the RPRA got this lot sorted before now. They'll be sticking their chests out at Blackpool look what i've done!! but a lot of fanciers take their clock to the show for repairs etc. What do you do now.More RPRA wait till everyone else has done it then we will.Lindsay C.
