Dearham, cracking morning,it's bound to go downhill this is too good ,light S.S.West wind, a few high clouds.Good luck and good returns with your birds tomorrow.

Apart from the above.
Hide all ropes and sharps, buy the wife plenty of flowers before you send your birds away and tell her you could be late home.
Other than that cider vinegar, anything else is prescription only.
I think we were the only ones that missed the rain today.Keswick got a soaking.
Things look very poor for Saturday, keep them for next season ,a few good training tosses but keep away from the BOP.
I see Susan Ennis brought 40 back from Lancashire ,well done Sue.
Any of you fanciers out there booked into the Grand Hotel for Blackpool show will be looking for new digs.On the news last night it was completely gutted. Was a hell of a fire looking at the pics.on the TV.

During the foot and mouth epidmic I was working at a food factory ,we used virkon s to spray the wagon wheels that came on the site.Anyone caught spraying without a mask ,gloves and eye protection were in the office for a severe talking to.
My mate down the village fit some for a lad even though he did not work for BT.He clipped them onto the wires using a long pole, looked like bright yellow discs which moved about in the wind.Very effective.

I've now come to the conclusion that BOP are one of the main causes that Derwent Valley fed /West Cumbria fed race birds suffer excessive lossses. Some races we are liberated with the Furness fed,South Cumbria on average they have good races and good returns ,our birds will not come past Corney Fell /Black Coombe ( Spelling ?)The fanciers in that area say they can see flocks of racing pigeons heading towards the fells and in minutes they turn and just fly around as if just liberated not wanting to face the final 40 mile journey home.
This is my opinion only.

I know our Fed aren't on your list but I beleive there are some Derwent Valley (Cumbria) birds reported in Wales from last weeks race from Leyland ???????? Why they went in that direction I don't know.
