  8. Hi Paul ,the last I heard it was Banned full stop, could be wrong . If you can get hold of some industrial boiler oil (black and only runny when warm) mix 50/50 with red diesel that's about as good as you can get. Lindsay

  11. Ther's one on the list that I just carn't quite see, lead,I would have thought that there should be no lead content at all unless the pipework is that old they are still using lead pipes????? I always allow the water I use for the pigeons to stand over night and let most of the above crap to disipate for want of a better word. Lindsay

  13. Makes you wonder why we put stuff in our birds drinking water, looks like there's already plenty in it. Lindsay
  14. As I said before I'm not bothered where it comes from, above board or not as long as I can race my pigeons. Tell me a pigeon fancier that doesn't use products from places other than a vet. Lindsay
  15. Hell of a price mate, make sure you have a good base, once it's down it'll be there forever, mines on gravel with 3x2 paving slabs on top then on railway sleepers treated with industrial boiler oil and red diesel mixed.See the photo, click to enlarge. Lindsay.

  18. I agree with what your saying as with Deweerd products most don't tell you what's in the tin ie.bs.However IMO if a product is going to stop /cure a problem with your birds ,I don't care what's in the tin as long as it does the job. Lindsay

  21. Hi pjc, Sorry if I picked it up wrong,if that's the case,I think in this area most fanciers would pack in when they sit down and see what it's cost for a season.More than likely the fed would wrap up the haulier would say if you don't want me this year I might not be here next year. Lindsay
  22. Over the past few weeks I've been reading on various pigeon forums about the use of Parastop.Appart from it's obvious use as in it's name ,what's the fanciers opinion on the use of it to stop young bird sickness.I read that some of the fanciers that used it did not get ybs. that season.Another product of similar use is Altabactin ,this again claimed by fanciers to cut down the risk of getting ybs. ????? Please give me your opinion one way or the other.Have you used one or the other or over the years have you used both, are the claims of reducing or even stopping ybs. correct.???? Lindsay C.
  23. Us lads in Cumbria are just about going down the sane road as you Jimmy.I once said to myself (a long time ago)if I hvae to keep them in I might aswell keep Canaries or something along that line, well I think they've been out half a dozen times since the last race. Not my way of keeping pigeons but you can loose as many round the loft this time of year as you do racing.Sad to say with declining club members ,bickering over trivial things, birds illnesses ,excessive amount of peregrines/sparrow hawks ,costs and getting older,I'm loosing interest. With a bit of luck this winter and a few sensible meetings, Fed and Club ,things might look brighter.Sorry to go off subject but it's a fact. Lindsay C.
