Your mate must have some cracking birds left in his loft selling an obvious stock hen as good as that,wish I had a couple like it.

Sixty years or there abouts,My grand father had them ,flying with my dad and one of my uncles,my other uncle had them flying on his own.I can remember going to the railway station on the horse and cart and loading them onto the train,also remember going to my grand fathers loft and he died in 1949 walking home from the local colliery.( The day I started School ) Lindsay.

This time of year cold dark nights alsorts of nasties creep out of the woods,make sure you have plenty poison/ traps down to stop anything from entering your lofts,stoats are a real threat and can get through unbelievably small holes. Lindsay

I also use it two or thrre times a week about 3 to 5 ml /litre.I think if you make it much stronger the birds tend to shy away from drinking. Lindsay.

Depends what sort of money you want to spend,there are loads of loft photo's on the site ,if you see one you like pm the fancier who put it on and ask where he got it from.I have three Blakes lofts ,value for money I think they are ok.They have a few faults but what doesn't these days.Couple of lads not happy with delivery,I can't complain,there was a post on here the other day ,a fancier bought a loft off an ex.Blakes employee who's started up building lofts on his own,that was good value. Totally agree mate,water can get in anywhere given half the chance.

I can't see water getting in Rodders,when the vans parked up if there's no wind it won't be moving and I don't think there are many vans full of water ?????? Lindsay
