  2. Yes boards with v's on is an option
  3. Do members feel racing roundabout or a separated sex system where both race takes the edge off cocks in favour of the hens when compared to a true widowhood cock Or do you find no difference
  4. They look very well bred youngsters
  5. I'm in two. Minds to pair or let them run together once a week for a few hours
  6. With no racing to June and no training to may 23 rd I plan to repair my birds in mid to late april to let them sit eggs they have only sat eggs to 15 days in April so the moult will not race on Only way I can think to slow them up,as they are doing 50 mins and roaring I have them on just barley and dupurative maybe I should add some protein to bring them back a bit ,I have cut down to letting them out every 3 days What's other members plans for this period

  9. See your point I'm a bit stuck in my ways I like to race them separate maybe they could overlap 3 races in early August then fly just ybs for a couple
  10. I can't see us racing to mid June I hope the old bird season runs into the yb season and the yb season gets extended Going to be hard to select pigeons at the end of the season. If we don't get many races
  11. I have 12 pair go down lost 2 eggs through fighting and got 2 not hatch but disappointed with that as both hens and 1 of the cocks never missed one before the other cock is new to me

    Louella

From memory in the 80's Louella used to go and buy the main pigeons at auction or in cases pretty much the whole team like the Jim smith fvw and for me it was the first place your new of a new family from the continent etc Maybe now with competition and the sport having less members this has effected the buying power to what it was when they had the larger complex open The investment if the Jan arrdens and Martha van Geel from memory was th last of this type of investment I can't really think of that kind of purchasing power Louella have made since . Does anyone still race the Louella old verheye, lefebre dhaenens( spelling may be wrong ) , de baere bros , George Josef ,etc That seemed the peak period be interested to know if these are still about in some form

Not been for a number of years to the stud used to love the trips in the 80's I can remember buying a hen that Alan farmer picked out for £40 that bred a cock the had 7 wins in the short races for me that would be around 1987 I went the last time in around 2006 when I was re starting it didn't seem the same and left without buying any birds and was in and out in no time , maybe it was memories playing tricks though

    Pairing Up

Sorry to hear that mate nothing worse than a set back like that I had a pair on loan last year both out of very good winners etc first round both eggs smashed when they had sat 14 days , really messed up my plans I have a 2 year cock at the moment who thinks he owns the box below and to the side so much so I have to lock him in why I'm at work I can't seem to break the habit How did you lose the hen was it a sparrowhawk? Must have had them spot on well done
