Agree with you Geordie we had the chance to all go together and never took it,now we will hear the same old p.sh again and it will never come to anything,to many would rather race against hundreds than test the birds against thousands,they blame the routes when really they are feart to race against thousands of birds,and the same feds will carry on doing what they done this year and next year because less birds to race against bigger chance to get a ticket just my opinion and that's what basics is for.??????? should say I am talking about the west side going up together as a combine,why not?

IB,You will know that some time ago Tom Pennycott Veterinary Centre Auchincruive Ayr dealt with PMV some years ago and a friend of mine got every test possible covering pigeon disease including live birds being sent for autopsy all of this at no cost to the fancier,i could be wrong but think he got a grant from the SHU to do the great work he done,if so maybe rather than give money to charity we could get this grant given to him once more and carry on saving fanciers not only money but their birds,whats your thoughts?

Got to agree with you,about 15 yrs ago when I raced ybs the birds were brought back to all the clubs after a holdover,think our club were the last drop about 9pm when I opened the basket I can tell you I have never seen fear like it in bird or animal in my life,you could see the fear in their eyes and all standing like statues,before I sent I was told by an oldtimer who never gave out praise to anyone that he had never seen a nicer team of ybs in his puff (well chuffed lol,when I got the poor wee craters home the following few days they were dying so rather than watch it every yb in the loft was put down,never trained or raced a yb since that day and from yearlings onward they hold their own AND never had sickness of any kind,no stress and on open hole all day stress free for birds and me lol.oh no medicines.

Late breds are not a waste of time "Stu3y"in my opinion,some of my best birds over the years were late bred so would say go ahead and try them,we always hear the same old stuff that they go down like "snow aff a dyke"the following year, well think about this,the same applies to thousands of yearlings who were hatched at the normal time as young birds, trained hard as young birds raced hard as young birds they go down as yearlings just the same but as we know many go on to great things,always do what you want to do and not what others want you to do,all the best with your late breds they will do you proud,again only my opinion.
