The reason im asking is when mine were paired and rearing ybs they flew min 40 plus minutes twice a day...now lucky to get 15 minutes or less.

come on roundabout flyers let me know how long your birds are loft flying a day...

How long should the hens and cocks exercise each day....do they have to do an hour twicw a day like some say.

What distance was this race from...very low vels even with the weather.

Hasnt stopped raining here all day........... i never got the birds out as the wind and rain was to strong.

Whats the weather like where you live today.................Its a wet, windy and dull day here in Dublin. A few days ago it was sunny and 17 degrees.

Does anyone know if there is a train station near the natural breeding station in belgium.if so whats it called.

Id go to the nearest park with a bag of corn and a basket and catch all the rung birds and spend the 1,000 pound on a nice holiday at the end of the season.

I got a yb red check c back that was missing nearly 4 months from its first race..............he will be given a chance as ive had a few that turned out ok after being missing a while.

im changing a few pairs arround that have been in the same section last year so im hopefully going to have these pre paired before the rest of them.

Do fanciers pre pair their stock birds before the start of breeding and if so does it go better than just putting them together in their box over night.

going myself..........staying at the ruskin albert...........meeting up with my english,welsh and scottish mates aswell as the lads from Ireland north and south.

one thing that was different was i had lost about one third of my youngbirds so more space and more air but the same food.

A vet sent down an antibiotic and nystation and this got the birds performing again...everyone that saw my birds said they were in super condition and couldnt believe i was dropping so many.

an antibiotic was sent down by the vet for 5 days then the usual nystatin again 5 days..birds lost a bit of condition after the meds but started to score again and losses stopped.... so birds looked better before the meds than after them.. big difference was they performed better....

none... I have blind treated in the past and any birds that I bring in get blind treated or a bird that has been missing that returns gets the same treatment. getting them tested gives you an over all picture of their health.

a pigeon can have worms, high levels of cocci or canker and look well.......a few years back my birds looked a million dollars small round firm droppings...the birds would have won in a show pen but i was dropping them each race ... got them tested and they had bacterial infection plus fungal infection...treated them the losses stopped and they started scoring again...a healthy looking pigeon is not always healthy inside...good dropping dont equal good health.

I agree with you once the birds are healthy going into the moult leave well alone...and before the breeding / racing season get them tested before breeding or training starts....

The photo make them look ok ,but there no way in the condition of my own birds........very light compared to my own aswell.thanks for all the advice.

My own birds handle well silky feel............these 2 feel dry a bit rough ..they both have dropped a flight since i got them on tuesday.

seen them just in a bad photo.. i agree they should shine at this time of year..the guy that had them didnt keep them right as i found out.didnt cost a fortune and at 8 years old im taking a chance.... 1 pair of ybs off each of them would do me to race.
