  1. Because they are flying straight across the country east to west and the wind forecast at the time was 20-25 mph. I note the forecast has moderated now.
  2. Just seen this on MSN which says the dust could take a couple of days to disperse.
  3. I would have hoped to send the full team to the Ayrshire first race which is from Arniston. 78 miles to me but I think with the west wind forecast a rethink might be required.
  4. 4 tosses upwards of 30 miles and 100% returns so far but all have race experience.
  5. I have had birds from various top lofts. Some produce winner some don't. I think it depends on just how lucky you are buying quality pigeons, whether they will work to your location and if they fit in with your system. Once you have bought them you simply breed and race till you have birds which win on your system at the type of racing you enjoy.
  6. Why waste money on ETS when what we should really be spending it on is top class state of the art transportation for the welfare of the birds.
  7. I have admired his enthusiasm for months now. That same enthusiasm will make the lows very low and the highs very high. The unfortunate thing about latebreds is that they seldom make good racers. There will always be one which makes the grade but I feel their failure is down to not having enough experience to cope with a race situation. I am happy that one has returned and may have lifted his spirits a bit. Best bet now is building for the future and I am sure that future will bring rewards.
  8. Like I always say Gillette make their cash selling razor blades. They give you the razor free
  9. You're not in Belgium you know
  10. Well done Hotrod. Might need to give up the doos now
  11. I would keep the wimp in the loft on a perch and later see what situations you can conjure up to motivate either or both cocks.
  12. Personally I would put them back out today. If you have time to spend with them allow them a bath infront of the loft but try to be there while they bathe as they do not fly very well when wet. They should take the bath easily given the weather conditions.
  13. absolutely spot on. When you trial something you do so with only a small percentage and ask for feedback. Two RPRA wrongs will never make a right but let's move on. However I feel for anyone who has bought birds wearing RPRA rings and modified them before this rule was introduced.
  14. Well done to you both
  15. an unearthed metal plate connected to 240 volts works wonders. Not sure about the legality though

    TRAINING

Just finishing off youngsters just now so I would not think about training till they have finished them off.
  18. Mungo---the percentage of your fees which would go on these items is minimal. I thought your club was almost all ETS--Desperate to have an advantage at the boys races so being ripped off for ETS rings. It's only right that the working man should subsidise us poor pensioners.
  19. That's open to speculation
  20. Then there should be absolutely no doubt who Jand A Stokes should support in the future.
