  1. What size was the convoy?
  2. Don't bet on it
  3. You are probably right Mungo. I would have preferred one race from Livingstone then turn south. I was not at the AGM (completely forgot the date)so really should not comment any further. Good luck to everyone today as far as the weather in the west is concerned we have missed the best of it. It's now much colder than previously.
  4. Cheers thanks for that useful information. Anyone online from the Berwick area?
  5. Certainly no news of Ayrshire release. I fear the weather in East of Scotland is less good than weather in the West.
  6. It must be costin auld Charlie a few shillings for feeding
  7. In 2009 we started the youngbird program with a disaster from Lockerbie (this was a mainly west/centre route) ----reason for first bad race is unknown. The Federation then had a rethink and went east mainly along the M8 route to avoid predators as far as possible. Returns were very good. I believe the 2010 program was intended to go down the east route but to have a couple of races on the mainly east to west direction to allow the yearlings to fly over familiar territory and build some fitness before turning south. Whatever happened last week we will never know but my opinion is that we are liberating much too close to the coast. I hope I have answered your point.
  8. Ayrshire Federation are at Berwick Upon Tweed. About 100 miles to me.
  9. I wouldn't really think overcrowding was an issue according to the reliable information I have. I think the problem was more complex than that. I had a NEHU stray arrive with my first pigeon (Blyth in Northumberland) and another NEHU stray arrive later in the evening. I also had an Almond Valley stray early Sunday morning. One fancier has had a bird reported from this race on an oil platform. Any conclusion I draw would be supposition.
  10. I will reduce my team especially after the disaster Ayrshire federation experienced last week with approximately 30% of the convoy still missing.
  11. He could start a row in an empty hoose and often did.
  12. Believe me it's the doos
  13. actually I haven't got round to getting one yet. If I buy wood and tools she might think I am up for some household DIY and that is just not on. I am only interested in keeping doos now. Many more race days like today and I might not dodge it much longer.
  14. faither will no sleep the nicht.
  15. Billy the 11:13 pigeon was my first in the loft. The other did not trap so it doesn't count in all honesty. As all Crawford used to say "I could have kissed it's *expletive removed* it still would not go in" Just looking through Taylor's choice for some dope for next week.
  16. I've trained my son he is on standby for next week.
  17. duramitex contained Malathion as did many garden pesticides. I think all products with this compound were removed from the market but not sure.
  18. yir ok. I bet a buzz attacking the furniture.
  19. not sure I didn't wait for the clocks. I timed my second bird at 11:13 and know that there is at least one bird before me. Dropped one bird which was surprisingly good given the wind chill factor.
  20. No off to band Q with my discount card on Wednesday. They will probably see me every Wednesday till September.
  21. I did a wee mac with the garden furniture---kicked the fcking legs off it today
  22. well done to Big Phil. Novice couldnae breed a winner if someone gave a pair of champion stock birds. Novice has no garden furniture left after today.
  23. Anyone who leaves an open loft at this time can be taking chances with crows who will enter the loft and take youngsters from the nest. This happened to a friend several years ago.

    CORN

I recently had some Bamfords All Rounder delivered. It's the worst quality I have ever had from them. It's very dusty.
  25. Billy I am not sure I will decide tomorrow. My friend from Whitney Vic Compton informed me that a news report stated that the volcanic dust could affect asthmatics so it may not all be as high as reported. That's just another variable.
