  1. Ayrshire liberated at Sedgefield at 06:30. The wind may turn southerly en route.
  2. Quality
  3. Ayrshire federation will liberate from Stobs camp at 11:15
  4. Unless I am mistaken it was the Emerald Classic Loft. Now defunct because of cheating.
  5. Ayrshire are at Carnwath for a trainer on the transporter. Anticipated liberation time is around 13:00.
  6. Can someone please clarify where the birds will be liberated for this race. The latest information I have is that Basingstoke is unsuitable and we are again back to Newbury. If we are at Newbury will we be at the Racecourse?
  7. Heavy rain, windy and poor visibility in Ayrshire.
  8. It's unimportant who is right and who is wrong. Unfortunately some have changed while others have persevered. What is really important is the fact that the details published in the BHW are unlikely to be correct for several organisations leading to confusion. It would be good to use this thread to make as much information as possible available to controllers to avoid the confusion which now exists.
  9. 10. Spot on. I have a mate who waited on his birds at the first race last year with a hot water bottle slung round his neck beneath his jacket.
  11. At the moment Ayrshire have delayed by 1 week now starting 27th April from Stobs Camp. However there are 2 training tosses organised using the transporter from Carnwath on 20th and 21st April. The situation will be reviewed again next week. I will post the most up to date race programme tomorrow.
  12. Sorry to hear this sad news. R.I.P.
  13. Strangely no one has mentioned Fortune Lady yet. The best guy to speak about the Spitalhill pigeon would be Kenny Young as Willie Kelly's partner John Young was his dad.

    Our Climate

That would have depended on how the wind direction related to the flight path. We liberated in 5 degrees into a head wind and the racing was pretty poor. Most sensible fanciers kept their birds in the loft.
  15. Thanks for this useful information.
  16. Back home looking for a mate.
  17. More so now than ever before do we need that!
  18. Thanks for that Andy I am having a look but seldom go beyond clicking on portal.
  19. Here is the Ayrshire Federation race program for 2013. I wonder if any other have a race program they would like to post simply to provide race controllers with some advance information. 20. My recollection was that the SHU OLR had their final race. The birds which returned from this were sold at auction in Newmains clubhouse. On the night of the auction the buyer had the choice of taking the bird home or returning it to the Single Loft to compete with the SNFC. Therefore the name on any result or trophy was the name of the guy who bought the pigeon at auction. This may have been the original breeder or someone completely remote.
  21. Quality with a capital Q
  22. The bid was not acknowledged by the auctioneer and, as such, is invalid. Had the bid been acknowledged I would have bid again but was denied the opportunity. The final decision was unfair and this will be my last bid on any "basics" auctions.
  23. Hi someone is at the madam here. I was winning lot 11 at £80 and never saw an increased bid of £85 or I would have bid again. This is definately not on and will be the last time I bid on any lot on this site. This is almost as crooked as some of the Blackpool auctions.
