  1. Let's wait until tomorrow before using words like disaster boys? Likes of West and North didn't have any hope of a bird today ...
  2. All the best boys I am re-thinking the velocities! Might be one doo on Scotland tonight??
  3. Any time now ....
  4. Hopefully tonights the night !! anyone in please post for info
  5. Totally agree in the sense that Ypres is a good racepoint, usually with high returns and would be ABSOLUTE FOLLY to get rid of... Maybe moving the GC or Longest Race back behind Ypres or scrapping Newbury and moving Eastbourne / Maidstone into that slot and Ypres into the current 2nd inland slot. Whats memebrs opinions on the following: Question 1: Why would you scrap a perfectly good shorter channel race? Question 2: Don't a lot of people send their yearlings/inexperienced channel birds to Ypres and isn't it a great race for doing just that? If you don't have Ypres then the following year or two years gold cup/Longest race send would suffer....
  6. Fantastic achievement - I know what would be happening to her if she was in our loft ...
  7. Surprised you got a race - Ayrshire postponed due to the weather forecast - bad on the coast?
  8. 1. SOME Fed programmes not nationals. 2. Disrespectful to nobody - my meaning was there seemed little interest on the thread, not nationally in the race in itself - I am of the opinion that the fanciers sending their vey best birds to this race will be over the moon to be involved. Apologies for posting an opinion, I thought the forum was for fanciers to share these. Not to be told to behave or be accused of disrespecting fanciers.....
  9. Best of luck Gareth - will take some getting in light of recent weather - one good day wouldn't go amiss! PS I just saw your post last night about Lindsay's doo - wasn't us we are next door in Stevenston - posted the time and place quickly as was on train to London at the time wasn't sure of it was Mark Findlay or Lindsay as they both had one (Mark at 16.09) Be nice to see another good one for the West at the longest race... Baz
  10. if only! Hopefully the Ayrshire boys will get another good one in the Gold Cup - am not going to speculate with a name - wish all the west section lads luck!
  11. So where have I said change the structure or programme - you could change the racepoints and still have 2 inland and the channel races - you could change the way the birds are liberated to encourage batch flying and therefore better racing and increased returns (in theory) for the sections who in 90% of the racing get it hugely tight None of this will ever happen as any mooted change to encourage a more even send would be laughed off the table... Behave myself? Meaning what? There were a handful of posts in 26 hours of posting on the Blue Riband race - the send is 1400..... is that good or bad in your eyes?
  12. you might have a point there, something definitely tried to eat our blue cock Well in - it's a relief when you see them there !
  13. it doesn't warrant an answer .... 15.40 Saltcoats - where did it say it was MY doo? Why would I ever try to claim someone elses time? I was simply informing of the birds location and time. I didn't even see Gareth's post until late on last night. Never mind... Yes, Lindsay's dad would be proud - imo close to the best pigeon in the race on the day - outstanding 1,2 for T Blair and the Saltcoats doo as good a performance in my eyes.
  14. Doesn't seem a whole lot of interest in what should be the premier race in Scottish Pigeons - seems like something has to change with the National club before there is one or two races per year ....
  15. No there was a bird in Ayrshire at 1542 - L Cowan of Clyde Coast Best of luck mate, it's a hard route for sure. Hope you get her

  17. So what you're saying Tyson is don't let him in cos he might win..... and that my friends, is what is wrong with pigeon racing!! PS it is either let him send or don't the SNFC can't just decide to alter the prize structure mid-season. If the owner is a member of the SNFC then I don't think anyone can legally stop him sending....??
  18. bump!
  19. Bird is in Dublin - John Miller could get it back to you no problem - I haven't got the guys contact details but I can get in touch through pigeon - cht Baz
