seem few and far between strong westerly they will get a right workout! Colin timed at 1308 for 84 miles - very harsh conditions...
-
Who's the best times and whats returns like lads an lassies?
-
1st & 2nd club only two birds timed from Salisbury, think they all walked it - got 3rd and final bird Tuesday morning!! Only ten sent from club..
-
Quite right if it is who I think it is. There are a few members with similar names in Ayrshire. If the reporter gets in touch with me I will try and sort this out. Baz
-
If you report the bird to the SHU their rules say he must send for the bird within X days or he is suspended from racing. I can see why he may not want the bird but he is duty bound by his union rules. PS a courier is not the only way to get a bird back.... Where are you based?
-
Ayrshire north having it hard from roughly 140 - any Salisbury doos yet?
-
Otterburn is fine? Do you read the BHW? The RPRA ONE LOFT birds got slaughtered by peregrine there on lib. If Ayrshire send to Otterburn etc we won't be playing. Racepoints where the falcons are KNOWN to hit and still fansciers want to lib at them. Makes you wonder. 3 sent with Ayrshire fed to Salisbury , fingers crossed for a good fairly quick race on Sun/Mon Baz

3 away 3 year old cock with 3 wins and 3 yo cock whose three sisters have won from channel, 2 yo hen badly hawked as yearling
-
Salisbury with AV Lanarkshire and Ayrshire fed. 341 miles roughly

Totally agree with IB any bird picked up should be on transporter - game is dear enough , birds just need a chance back in their own area and will clear home. Don't give lazy people who don't care about pigeons an excuse....

are the GB "A" rings mate or SU "A" rings ??

The SW of the country wasn't fit to race into yesterday and if you looked at all of the weather maps Sunday was showing as by far the better day. Yes, there were showers - yesterday they were almost monsoon-like. You can't judge by how it was outside your own garden or loft or just in your town. The birds will navigate round and some will attempt ploughing through belts of rain, granted - no legislating for how gappy a race like this can be, but hard determined birds will drive on. Difficult tho it is, we have a 3yo hen with 3 National turns out still - cmon the mealy!! Best of luck to all waiting.. KTF Baz

. They look scarce in Ayrshire one from 3 at 1237 in Stevenston

Red card for Nicols, but don't know official result will get measurements from Scottish tomorrow?? Lol

Bitching?? Unless it is a pack of lies, the guy is stating facts and it is an utter disgrace (if true as written)

Gareth, I think the reason you didn't name the SNRPC is well documented - the West fanciers have a much better chance of winning the "National" when the convoy is the size of a small fed. The SNFC can have 5-6000 inland and a convoy twenty times the size of the SNRPC's with the vast majority heading for Eyemouth/Edinburgh/Fife areas - not a slant on the SNRPC but I would prefer a pair of youngsters from a Lanarkshire fed channel winner any day .... bear also in mind that the SNRPC convoyed with the West Cumbria fed in some of these case. JMO of course PS West route/East route no matter , the BOP is everywhere. If we really wanted quick racing with good returns we would race East to West in easterlies and SW to NE ie from Ireland in years with prevalent SW (never going to happen)... we don't have the foresight or the resources to be so flexible so it would be nice if fanciers stopped slaughtering those that work hard on their behalf and send when they want

Yes mate were about 6 mins in front of two more then a bit of a gap from what I hear i think Mauchline winner is a good one at 10.15 but we may beat that depending on measurement(we havent got measurements for this lib site but we have for the other in Longtown). Same cock won Eastbourne and Ypres last year were hoping for more like 5 1/2 - 6 hours when we sent on Fri but at least home safe - Lanarakshire birds would have it hard today mate - best of luck for next week looks like 15-20 SW winds for sat
-
Timed at 10.31 doing roughly 1610 (from what I can work out, no measurements yet!)out of Longtown with Ayrshire today - 100% returns for most so a blessing in disguise but a fast race Baz
-
91 mins from Longtown wi Ayrshire roughly 83 miles first birds were quick - libbed with Lanarkshire our timer doing around 1610 (no measurements til Scottish opens!)
-
spot on Graham. Bigger birdage = better returns look at the UNC massive birdage , Lanarkshire etc its the small feds that lose out when it comes to clashing etc .... yet another reason why we need to get the heads of shed around the tables together..
-
Graham - it needs to be all set up at this time of year. all of the fed committees meet and agree to put a race programme for next year to their membership. ie a proper meeting, everyone who should be there is there and concrete plans made. This season it was "i think we are going together, well...maybe if they still want to" it's not enough to guess what each other might do The problem is people just dismiss it out of hand and then when racing comes around complain there's too small a convoy or not enough prize money etc etc
-
Do you think a few of the West feds converging after say, 4 races and libBIng as a Amal or Combine would help with good racing AND the National send later on?? Is there any will to get this off the ground? some clubs in Renfrewshire at least, I know were sadly uncompetitive in quite a few races in 2011 3 members sending a handful of pigeons etc surely NOW is the time to get the West's racing on some sort of health kick? Ayrshire, Renfrewshire,Glasgow,Ballochmyle,Lanarkshire..... ???

braw young ones them John

Tossed at CairnRyan after 2 weeks resting in our prisoners end - old fella couldnt afford to send for it, hopefully is home now

If only fanciers would help each other. If there is a non-fancier with a bird there is surely a fancier in the same location could go along pick it up. If flown right out and skeletal,or badly injured as can happen we all know the sensible course of action there. If just a bit tired or lost the owner should send for it.Failing this any decent fancier should be able to give another mans bird a day or two's feed until either a courier or lift can be arranged or it is fit to be sent onward. Fanciers need to help fanciers.
