  1. rain in NI and borders? How does that affect lib from south coast? 11 lib means half the country wont get day birds (north and west) imo if they're not up by 9am then they shouldn't go... only my opinion though. But bear in mind it will take 6 hours plus to get to the border area and as for NI any birdmaking NI on the day (or Ayrshire) should get a medal
  2. Hi mate, I dont think when they have done the first 200miles a band of showers will stop them, as long as they get a clear start at it. Looking at the wind the birds will head up the east coast , so best of luck. No chance of lib monday or tuesday by the looks of it, so guess is Sunday best
  3. she's there for next year now mate (if you keep her!) done a wee ob to get home = guts. Only sad thing is iv never had a bird do after getting hawked.
  4. Well done John we're in at 1611 in Stevenston 317 mile, 4 to come though Baz Nicol Harvey Pollock n ivine at 15.13 approx 315 mile
  5. didnt even know we were going up Ayrshire Ballochmyle and Lanarkshire as one lib... as stated before. I suppose its up to the race controller on the day.
  6. Am no blaming anyone for a bad race - if you read the post I said it would be nice to know the intention before you select what to send. Libbing with Lanrkshire fed I termed russian roulette for birds with hardly any experience. Thats my opinion, yours is the more the better. If theres any blame its on us for no racing these birds harder before yesterdays race to give them more experience. The same birds would go to Marlborough with the SNFC 2 weeks later but with 2 more races over their backs. The rain coming in didnt give the birds the whole day to work back as some would have, so apologies if you think I was blaming race officials - I thought overall it was a good race, just not the circumstances I would have chose for them birds at that point. We didn't know that the intention was to go up with the Lanrakshire boys. Have a good season in BMyle. Onward to Newark. Baz
  7. we doing 1308 into Ayrshire, libbed with Lanarkshire - why, i dont know we sending inexperienced yearlings and we were supposed to go up with Ballochmyle - not a HUGE fed which isnt on our line of flight. expletive remove needless to say the birds we setting up for the longer races all home - the yearlings? Probs flying round Lanarkshire going "wheres this, then?" couple more races would be nice before race officials decide to play russian roulette with our season.
  8. hi mate, the wonderboys 05 and 06 were top pigeons on the continent their brother the Wonder Red has bred numerous top pigeons up to Amal and National level in the UK inc 1st WDA Vire over 7000b. He was owned by Wal Lunt & Green and then by Derek Pedley.

  11. Hi John, duty rumour atm as I believe that Lanarkshire dont have a race the week before the YB national and Ayrshire are at Ripon. Shall see if it comes to anything, maybe the jungle drums rattling?? Baz
  12. as for the west route Carlisle Longtown etc just ask the Annan boys who are gettin them back in bits every week out of that line.. if you want to feed BOP go down that route lads....
  13. the Berwick birds were not all gone at 715 lads Ayrshire went at 745. we got 8 from 18 on the day and 2 today, both shattered. Our first 2 came off the south east and the rest came out of the north east.... clashing.
  14. Ayrshire and Ballochmyle federations are at Consett this coming weekend, has anyone heard the three feds are liberating together with Ballochmyle controlling the race??? Is this a good idea, and who/when was this decision made by?
  15. Ayrshire fed at Berwick on Tweed - 16-20 of our 45 youngsters will go. Baz
  16. i think the race should go ahead otherwise where do we stop? well-feathered, fit youngsters are able to compete. Maybe it should be 150 miles the shortest flyers that would make it an hour to 90 mins less flying and more "reachable" - problem is we see the Dutch doing 350-400 miles and try to emulate them. They have a flat country we have huge mountains and valleys to navigate. JMO
  17. good luck with him Colin, hope he does you the business. Baz
