  1. You'd rather see the sport die than build bridges...??
  2. Amazing with many losses over the last 3-4 weeks how few come home or are reported at all. I know some will say they would neck any stray that comes in because of disease or they get nowt thanks for reporting them but surely you can lift the phone and report a bird to the SHU or use the phone rings to make a phone call. We try to repatriate every pigeon that comes to us - here's hoping others don't condemn "a strag" as with the racing we've had an being YBs they deserve better.. any thoughts??
  3. Well done all of you, very proud what you have done for this man. Baz
  4. Like I said Chris a strong wind with poor weather can still blow the pigeons into certain areas and be hell for others. As my post before, we will have to wait a day or two to see whether it can be classed as a good race, but it doesn't look great for the South Section or Sect F. Hope they work in for you. Baz

    Sion'S Wanted

try Charlie Bradshaw 01639844699. They have some of the old strain its their foundation base of their national winning distance family into Wales
  6. Yes, the Secretary and his good lady wife and all their hired help did some long hours setting it up, and some class lots given by very generous fanciers the length of the UK and Ireland. Thank you for the positive comments. The power of positive thinking.
  7. superb, that!
  8. well done lads on timing in your National doo, horrible day fellas. Hope they work in for you's Baz
  9. well done everyone who timed. Will be interesting to see the returns when all the dust is settled , it was a rotten day right enough I don't really know why you would lib in such weather - at any other race of the season it would have been a holdover in all probability. Still well done to all who got their birds and congratulations to the winners. Roll on 2012 breeding season! Baz
  10. hope you can get through Lenny is a clubmate of ours - had many a good banter with Lenny about the doos, will be gid to see plenty there nah dont feel the need to eye ball ever over doos Billy - maybe over fitba' but never doos all the best if they doos are up the morro - hope the returns are gid first of all
  11. great shooting , well done the SNRPC
  12. We had 8 races with the YB with Ayrshire fed he only other one was the Nat but with only 124 miles behind them and a rubbish forecast it was more sensible to keep them hame for next season. In no way a computer fancier and would have been aay but for thinking we wont get a lib at all...
  13. I'm relaxed mate no worries. Will hopefully get a few YBs away at next years National hopeully we'll get a better one weather-wise Baz
  14. could still go cheap, like Billy says there may be plenty that won't go above the last online bid. There are plenty everywhere with short arms and long pockets too
  15. full of crap?? Me? Where is the need for that comment? Come along to the sale tomorrow my name is Baz Nicol and I'll be there to meet you. You can call me anything you like then. You will see some good doos there and maybe you'll find out that we don't fly doos in Ayrshire on computers... I dont get your comment - explain? I can't have an opinion on a race as I made a decision not to send to it... Some site this where you get called full of crap after wishing fanciers all the best.
  16. it's a game of opinions right enough mate, hope you get a good one when/if they do go - same to everyone who has birds away. Baz
  17. There were a few there, right enough they had had a doing the day before from Morpeth so were probably sitting looking at the sky. I think there will be a good few fanciers from outside Ayrshire bidding tomorrow mind. Im not sure if your post is supposed to be a dig or not, but let's hope other fanciers support this sale - after all their has been alot of hard work gone in. I know of 4 Ayrshire fanciers that bought doos at Newmains and I have only spoke to a few, bearing in mind this sale coming up tomorrow the money only goes so far
  18. very constructive post..... my concern is that the birds that are there are liberated in acceptable conditions.
  19. So, because the SNRPC went at Peterborough means the SNFC would get a great race from Leicester?? Tosh. Two feds went from Otterburn last week and Ayrshire went from Morpeth... Ayrshire got slaughtered.... I applaud the SNFC decision to holdover - the ONLY sensible option in the conditions at Leicester and on route!! The very idea of "taking a chance" with the whole countries "national doos" is abhorrent. Baz
  20. not being told whats going on? You've just told us whats going on.... disillusioned by the decision..... the forecast for Mon and Tuesday is horrendous - should they put them up whatever the weather and let them try and work in thru the tail end of a hurricane on mon?? First time in the history of the SNFC? So, what you mean is every other time they have been let go just because they dont want to be the first to bring them back?? Apart from that I see the sense in your post..... long and short of it is that the forecast was always leaning towards there being a slight chance of a race on Saturday and virtually none after. I dont know what you expected.
  21. Some of the lots on there are dirt cheap for what they are, on PIPA you could add a nothing to some of the prices , doos that would cost £250 plus still at two figures! And there are some beauties there, the birds given are a very high standard as the fanciers attending the sale will see tomorrow morning.
  22. Remember if you cant make the sale and wish to bid on a phone we can telephone you from the sale when the lots come up. To arrange this you must call Jim Savage by COP Saturday. Jim is available on 07799640711. Jim will ask your registration details when you call.
  23. rubbish Kenny they tried to get round that rain - a few turned up Sunday but still 13 out from 20 birds reported in Annan, Carlisle and the like - all year the birds coming off the water have been winning but the water was rained out Saturday.....
  24. 2 out of 20 from Ayrshire Fed at Morpeth, 4 on Sunday and one reported in Annan.
  25. Trying to get in touch with Norman, anyone have his number?
