Young Bird Auction - Starts Friday 17th April
Blue Chequer Pied replied to Roundo's topic in Birds For Sale
Good luck with the sale Colin I hope it goes well. All the best, Paul. -
If a farmer's lambs or chickens are taken by a fox is that just part of an eco-system? Difference being that they can protect their property and take action as necessary. If the RSPB hype were to be believed re eagle owls being a danger to cats and dogs etc ( I have even heard of ridiculous claims they would take babies from prams, but this is just the RSPB persecuting one raptor to protect the ones they want to protect) do you think cat and dog owners would accept it as an eco-system...... No i dont think so. So my question is why is it acceptable for these creatures to take our property yet we are powerless to protect them. People rightly feel agrieved by this and lets not forget whether we like it or not some people make their living from racing pigeons in one way or another. This leads me to ask the question what makes these people different from farmers because i dont know and I feel we should have the right to protect our livestock from threat, afterall idont think that foxes out number sparrowhaks I genuinely feel it would be the other way round. As a result of this the validity of 'protecting' something that is so over populous is ridiculous. In Africa there are now programmes in place to control the population of elephants in some regions because they have been over-protected and their increased numbers are causing problems and an imbalance in the eco-system. A bit like our 'eco-system' where the songbirds are very much in decline. So you know what you can do with your idea of 'PEACE' Paul.

Well done Kev

Banjo............ it would be like a scene from deliverance rather than a George Formby film (evil)

My thoughts are with all the families that have been touched by this tragedy. Best Wishes, Paul.

Blue Chequer Pied replied to 0pensaysme's topic in Novices, Beginners & Young Fanciers
Roland please an Aberdonian is on his 21st year. Remember the aberdonians inveted copper wire when two of them were fighting over a penny. Thing is i lived there for 15 years and both of my children were born there, I should maybe be sticking up for them ;D Paul. -

Bryan, Stevie told me you take them out of the nest bowls at the end of the year, wash them, peg them on the line to dry and use them again Typical Aberdonian. ;D Take care mate, Paul. -
I dont think you can tell from a photo. Particularly a generic blue w/f / blue pied young cock? But to hazard a guess I would say it is a Silvere Toye x Pol Bostyn x Stassart x dordin x Maurice Verheye x Rene Zellwigger x Heidi Klum x Russel Crowe

Great idea for a thread Jimmy. Well done. Paul. -

A long time ago I was in a club where there was a sweepstake every week as to what a certain members excuse would be that week (there was always one he never had a good trap lost at least 5 mins every week). I got rather good at winning the sweep as I would visit midweek and say such things as ' Did you see the size of that black cat that just ran from behind your loft' we would then discuss this mystery cat. come friday night my 50p would go on ' a huge no massive black cat came from under the loft and scared the bird just as it was going to land'. Saturday would come clock checking and someone would ask how he got on 'well this huge............ laughing all the way to the bank with my 5 x 50p winnings ;D Paul.

Nice grizzle cock Mark. Paul.

Hi Colin, I will give you a pair no problem. I coach the school team and I know the trouble we have had getting kit so it would be a pleasure. Regards, Paul.

That was the temp outside Susan honest it is unreal here today. We have a bit of a micro climate here on the Moray coast we are quite sheltered. Much better than when I lived in Aberdeen on the east coast it was miserable just like the people ( joke Messrs Taylor, McKay, Davidson, Elliot and any other Aberdonians present, I do quite like some of you ) Paul.

Glorious in Forres aka 'The riviera of the North'. Temp in car was showing 19 degrees C on the way home. 8) 8) 8) Paul.

This post was put on in a light humoured manner. Nobody is promoting the killing of these creatures that I can see on the thread. There are lots of tongue in cheek comments and what is the harm. It is a bit like a david and goliath scenario and lots of people like to see the under-dog come out on top. Many fanciers in this country have to stomach the damage that these creatures do to the birds that they love. Finding the remains of one of your best racers or one of yours or your childrens favourutes can be hard to take so maybe some may feel that this balances the books in some sort of way. Paul.

It is like someone I know who shall remain nameless :X who nearly got a divorce after his wife came home early and found the dishwasher full of nestbowls. She went mad, he was delighted as ' it did a great job on the bowls' ;D Paul.

I can just hear my wife no and picture all my gear lying in the street. Might have to try it (evil) Paul.
