  2. i would prefer to wean them of an evening , with a full crop,, in to a section with shavings on the floor , where they can huddle together, during the night then in the morning find they venture out , and pick at some maples, drinker in with the top off [usually bath in it then change it
  3. would say basket training very important indeed ,y birds should be basketed regularly from day one [when separated ] in uncrowded conditions, given plenty confidence in the basket, to eat drink and be completely at ease, used to put coloured rings on and basket about 8 at a time in a big basket, and repeat this with the others, when it came to training time found they went through far less stress , being very quiet and still in basket
  4. a little glucose in the water on return a very light feed of depurative mixed with yeast, lemon juice ,soaked and dried the day b4 a fuller feed later [type , depending on distance your racing] feed in boxes ,,, this being for w hood ,,for distance would hopper feed
  5. i would agree with this one hundred per cent , i think there are some would be great pigeons ruined by this early torture [as i have found out myself in the distant past]

  16. yes snowy,, strange co incidence,,, i had a chap ,come down from tayport, to pick up a pannier of lost fife ybs after a bad race,,,, one of his landed on my loft, while he was there :) [he lived about 50 miles away]

  22. sad sad news,,,, just had very bad news ,,,,,specks chicken has passed away,, speck is in scot at the moment and obviously very very upset,, im sure thr furum will help and give her all the support she needs , this is just an unbeleivable situation my heart goes out to speck as im sure you can imagine how upset she is,, specks had "speckled" for 6 years since a few weeks old ,, and became one of the family,,, i, myself are too upset to go on,, please be with tracey at this time. plane booked for 5am
