why are you worried about the mighty gers danny boy??? the title is decided on a season of football, not just the very first game, you should know that?? lets see how well scottish football does in europe. the arabs have done well so far 7-2 at least we have an excuse for playing poor, what with rebuilding. Time will tell lad, time will tell.

A black pigeon (show??) was picked up in my neighbours garden. Its only identification is a white ring with Borders Doo on it. Any ideas who this can belong to????, its well down.

British gas appear at my next door neighbors to service their boiler (baxi 552 and pw3). Before they even looked at they said it was needing replaced?? elderly neighbor asked why? oh they are being replaced with a more up to date more efficient boiler, that one doesnt meet the governments criteria??? so he starts to throw some prices at the elderly tenant. £4500 for a new worscester 15ri, my neighbor was delighted she thought new boiler new radiators ect ect. But no, this was just for the boiler, no new radiators nothing. when they came in they ripped the old system out, never bothered to fill the annular space back up, just left the hole, told her to do it. never even changed the programmer. Now, this isnt the first time ive heard this, go onto the combustion chamber forum and see british gas get ripped apart from all directions. i feel for the workforce and the customers that are effected by these goings on, just cant believe they are getting away with it.
-
I,m a gas engineer with our local authority, and am sickened at what tactics they use to dupe the innocent customer. Yes, they have a great advert on the tele at the moment, but who pays for it???? you the paying customer. Its high time the regulating authorities seen through all the fancy gimics and promises, and start to protect the customer and their work force instead of lining their own pockets. Why are companies allowed to make so high profits, in the present climate??? its a joke. my opinion only.

I,ll pass this info on to the president. John was asked if this would be an option, with some fanciers raising the concern, of lack of opportunity to train birds. As pointed out, it would confuse matters by changing the start time. In my opinion the racing for young birds starts far too late at the moment, and our fed plays catch up. When you suggest bringing it forward, the response is that you wont have time to train young birds as well as racing old birds. The officials listen to the membership, and dont just steam in and do things on their own accord, its the membership that runs the fed. Going on whats been said on this topic, it would be just to leave it as it is. As i said, i,ll pass this info on to john. Cheers for the input guys.
-
it was only a suggestion jock, just trying to do the best for birds and members, just waiting on a respeonse from oor president
-
I have raised this with John McCord and he was speaking to Ian Hynd for his advice. I gave a couple of suggestions, 1. delay the programme by one week and keep the current races on it. This would mean that there was 2 races on the day of the yb national. Or to do away with a witton castle and delay it by a week. John was considering but ive never heard of anything. I,m on holiday at the moment but still in contact. If i hear anything i,ll keep you posted.
-
thank you Brian, and a huge huge congratulations to Jocky King, who was telling me last night that it has taken him 63 years to finally win a national. Well chuffed for him.. Just to warn you all, that this pigeon is direct from MARY, so there may be more damage to be caused by his winner
