Why doesn't someone with intellect on this site, prepare a letter that we can all download, then stick one in the post to them, all at the same time. We could do this on a regular basis, and even supply the letter to our local papers, to let them see what our concerns are. I,m sure at some point that a response will be gained, then again maybe not..

In Blackpool now, rain showers but fair now. Bloody cold though, having a nice wee beer wi James beveridge Geordie Morrison and Dom Gallagher. Braw chill out.

i,ll be there too

Not a fan of giving medication just for giving it, even if its classed as a pre treatment. I only treat if the bird shows signs of a specific problem, be it canker, cocci ect. everyone to their own though.

the design doesnt allow any rain to get in, and thats exactly whats happening, not a single drop of water, even after these torrential downpours, not a drop. The roof is very secure, and the ventilation is what i wanted, so perfect.

i think this is going to solve the problem i have been having for the past 3 years. Poor ventilation and poor light, i,m chuffed to bits with it. I am doing my yb loft on saturday, and cant wait as i,ve always hated how dull and stuffy it is.
-
Theres a topic on chat about this, and i,ve added some photos of what i done with my loft. There cant to much vent as it doesnt cause the desired draw effect. The saying is "less is best". Regards alex.

i,ve always said that its an unfair way of doing it. Reason being, for the further flying birds MUST maintain the same speed as the first dropped bird. In the nationals especially, the bird that is flying 500 miles must maintain the same speed as the pigeon doing 400 miles, to stand a chance. Not a clue what the answer is, so will just stick with the way it is lol

Cheers Wullie, that is what is on my mind all the time "i,ve not enjoyed my pigeons since starting back up again". I dont know what will happen tomoro, but i wont be doing anything that i see being detrimental to my family, myself and my birds. Ultimately i will do what i want to do, not what everyone wants me to do.

Myself with James Beveridge, Geordie Morrison and Dom Gallagher are going down on Thursday until sunday, staying in the Rosebank Villa Hotel. All travelling down in my car, canny wait.

I,ve been in the sport for 6 years. In my 2nd year i was appointed secretary of my club, also a councillor, oh and ran the ets. I had an arson attack on my loft but still kept going, for 3 members to threaten their resignation if i didnt kick one of our members out of a race, for something they thought was wrong. It wasnt wrong, and they didnt resign. I then moved clubs to be appointed race secretary and ets operator, to then be elected as secretary in my 2nd year. I enjoy doing the job, but one of our members threatened the club as he wasnt happy about not getting an ets system (due to not attending any races). The crap that i had to do after my full time job and sometimes during it, was bang out of order, our agm is soon and this will be dealt with. Our fed agm is this sunday, and we need a secretary............ my name was put forward, and i have refused due to, working full time, the work i do for my club and also a 4yr old boy and wife. I cant believe for the life of me, why the 4th youngest and one of the least experienced fanciers is being considered for such a post, and also president. I wait to see the outcome on sunday, but as you say, its the mouth pieces that do all the shouting but do very little to support the club or fed that they are in, that forces the guys in the positions to walk, due to the abuse.

yer right there, i,ve spotted it in that tree b4. theres another one that needs to come down and the owner has given me permission to do it, so i,ll b a busy boy soon.
-
If i get to it first it will be cut to 6 inches from the ground, so i guess they better get there ass in gear. Like the idea o the letter box tho lol lol. I ve just spent a lot on the roof, so was pretty relieved that no damage was done.

I was back to work today, and it was a case of "dodge the debris" style o driving.Trees down, chimneys down, rubbish everywhere, fences down, shop signs down, lead flashings off houses, trampolines flying like saucers so no different here in Lochgelly Got home from work to find neighbours tree lying over ma loft. I went out to trim it down so it didnt damage the new roof i,ve just put on. The neighbours saw me, instead of coming out to deal with THEIR FUUCKING TREE, they pulled the blinds closed. twwats. They will now wake up tomoro to one chopped up tree in their garden.

Thank you mick, good points there. I feel that the responses i,ve had, its pointing to staying as we are, as the pigeons will have it the same from where ever they fly. Thanks budgie, being in the west of fife myself, i,ve look around me to see who is actually able to hold their own in the fed and nationals, and its clear that its the guys that put the effort in thats reaping the rewards. This was not to help individuals, it was to protect the pigeons, after having a few horrendous seasons down the east. Having asked the question, i feel the answer has been given. Thanks to all who have commented, and given their views. Regards alex.

I have put this post up for feed back, like your own, so that i can get a feeling for the proposal. I,ve never experienced this programme so needed to ask the question from the guys that fly or have flown it. As it stands at the moment i,m getting mixed feed back (as its on another site too). However the thing that i dont want to see happening, is it being detrimental to the pigeons, due to change for change. These replies, including your own, are taken seriously and it will help me make a final decision at the agm next weekend. How ever as i,m the seconder of the proposal, i need to speak to the proposer as to whether its worth putting it forward. Thanks again, alex.

thats ur opinion, and ur entitled to to it. me personally i prefer to look after the birds first then myself, thats a fact. Regards alex.

hi brian I,ve not been a fan of the national down on the west, but i just wonder what it would be like if we edge them down that side, would they better prepared and not a surprise to them when it comes to the national??? I listen to all the fanciers that experienced the race programme, and it was apparently good racing. The thing is, it doesnt matter where we go, i fear racing is going to very hard no matter what. altvb :emoticon-0167-beer:

a hear u danny, i was balancing it oot a bit, but yer right there are 4 per nest which would then double the numbers that i have stated. far too many but we hear it all the time, just got to deal with it me feels, which is ongoing all the time.
-
cheers frank, we have had pretty poor racing down the east for whatever reason, it was just to try something that was done many moons ago, not that i was there at that time. we will see what happens tough. thanks for yer comments. regards alex.
