Your problem is if the UNC mark tomorrow as planned and you mark tonight and then the UNC decide to liberate on Friday instead of Saturday ( which they may do as they've done this already this year )This means your birds will be basketted on Wednesday, NOT FED on THURSDAY and libbed on Friday. As an onlooker, and only giving my opinion,you must feed the birds before you put them onto the UNC transporter or mark the same day as the UNC ( early morning) and then ferry them down to the Border fed.

Last ob race of the year, sent 2 and hoping for the weather to change.

What day will we get a race ? Looks bad Friday, Saturday so it'll be a minimum 5 days in the basket for the doos imo. Surely it makes sense the birds are marked on Thursday/Friday for a Sunday/ Monday race. Birds first, at all times!!!

Ive flown in both wicker baskets and aluminium crates and both have been equally successful. Its not the basket/crate, its how many that goes in them that matters. The SNFC don't put any more than 15-18 in a basket going to the long races.

I do believe that in the present climate with all the hazards our pigeons face, its time to make sure we get convoyed or liberated with another convoy of pigeons from the longest races. This applies to both SNFC and SNRPC, both races have been disasters this year. After the SNFC liberating with the UNC last year and having a brilliant race, we decide to go alone??? Crazy decisions by the Scottish fancy in my opinion.
