Sending 6 to Ypres. Lets hope the Race Controllers Realise there's a *expletive removed* Stretch of Water the birds have to cross and shove there web cams up there *expletive removed*!. Do a bit of old fashioned line of flight contacts every 50-60 miles.
Well done to all who timed and you can't take anything away from these gallant pigeons. The reason the birds didn't turn up is they didn't get across the channel. Irish birds held yesterday because of FOG in the channel. Heard from a prominent fancier on the South Coast where the birds would cross from Messac into England and he said the channel was fogged out until lunch time and it's been the same all week. There birds today were not libbed until 12:45 from Fourgeres because of the same reason.
Aye, The owner drove up and collected it next day and I think sent latebreds up at the end of the season. The doo had a week off then won the Fed the next race.
Mick, When I raced the doos in the 90s in Broxburn, a clubmate got an English stray in one day. It turned out to be "The Boss" later purchased by Louella. At the time it had about 30 1sts of its final 40.
Good Bobby, still only got ma 5/7 but got a yearling widower from Huntingdon (same day) this morning, been roughing it, now 18/20. At least I've now got 1 for Clermont.
Stevie, Got a couple of pairs in 2006. They've been very up and down although I was 10th Open Eastbourne last year with one. Tried crossing them this season so will wait and see....
