well done to john alston he can be proud of his birds effort but there has to be a stopping point and i think 400ypm is fine there is no one more pleased than me to see a late one home to fight another day long distance racing is about a pigeon with speed and stamina combined and scotland has these pigeons lowering ypm would be lowering the standard that the scottish long distance pigeons have achieved for many years

i think it should stay the same if a pigeon is doing less than 400ypm it is homing not racing

the guy is a credit to us scots rated no4 in the world at his sport none of us has the right to even comment on his achievments he is world class an more

my nephew a young fancier and pigeon daft and a real descent person had a few snidey comments made to him while at the race marking at ypres with the snfc about competing with the snrpc these guys should take a long hard look at themselves how are we going to get young fanciers into the sport with an attitude like that you blame hawks the weather etc for our declining sport we in coalburn hs have young fanciers in our club because we encourage them not bring them down you should be saying to him well done for competing in every race that you can

So we feed our pigeons the best mixtures made up by experts on the continent give them supplements that make them sparkle exercise them regular to get them to peak fitness and give them a roof over there head and wait until they reach maturity and a young bird with half a tail on a poor diet and roughing it for a fortnight flys 500mls easier than most of the convoy it found itself caught up in
