  1. cheers for that. What's ash spread?
  2. Does anyone know what colour(s) I am likely to get from mating a yellow to a barless mealy? I have a pair of barless and a pair of yellows, but each pair is closely related to the same coloured bird so was thinking of outcrossing and producing two pairs of yellow x barless mealy. Any ideas please? Lee

I'm about 10 miles away mate, if no- one nearer gets in touch, let me know I'll pick it up Lee
  6. i think it will say on their website pal Lee
  7. PM sent
  8. I did mate. Some young birds and some older pairs. Lived in Preston at the time, and got them for weddings. Had to sell on when I moved house though. Have you still got the birds?
  9. Welcome back mate. Long time no speak!!! All the best Lee
  10. the onduline stuff is great to work with and lasts ages, far better than felt. I've done one of my dad's outhouses in it. the only problem is it really absorbs the heat and transfers it inside the building, so either make sure there is plenty of ventilation in summer, or add it on top of the felt roof that's already there mate. just my opinion, and I admit I haven't used it on a loft!! Lee
  11. I'm in Burnley mate which isn't too far away, PM the details, I'll see what I can do Lee
  12. Sorry fellas, no other lost souls tagged along Ive lost half a dozen this year, and when you only start with 21 it made me worry that I'd have none left for next year, so even getting one back feels like it has made a difference!
  13. Came next to last, 5th out of six!!! But I was 8 minutes behind the winner and I fly a mile further. I know I'm hardly setting the world on fire but it felt good to know I might not be completely wasting my time!!!!
  14. well, good by my standards! As my first year racing I have so far been at the bottom of my club result sheet every week....until today. I finally didn't come last. On top of that, my last bird back brought with it a bird I lost at the first race two weeks ago! How many people got more back than they sent haha!!! Lee :-)
  15. I was PNE until relegated!!! In all honesty I dont have time to get on the matches so no season ticket this year, just going on the odd match. You a Blackpool fan? Yeah I'm on facebook. search for Lee Hammond and find the one with the husky's face. I think there a few photos on there of my pairs from last year. I must updatethe photos. Lee
  16. how's it going? well....my young may not be fast, but i still have some in the loft!!! I look at that as a bonus! haha! I've kept all sorts of pigeons over the years but recently saw the racers and thought I'd try it. I work full time and over time, so I can't spend as much time with them as I'd like, and my set up isn't very big, but it'll do for now.
  17. No mate this is my 1st season. Racing a small team of young birds. Our 3rd race is on saturday. Just wait until January, the pigeon show is in Blackpool at the winter gardens - its great for losing yourself in for the weekend!!!
  18. Yes mate, Burnley now, Preston originally. Lee
  19. lost 1 from 14
  20. I've thought of doing something like this myself. Splitting the YBs into two groups and treating them differently to see what works best, but don't have the room at the moment for enough YBs.I have a few theories that I want to try out, so will have to wait until I have a bigger loft and more experience!!!!!
  21. HI Rob, welcome to the site. I've spent a fair bit of time in Portugal not far from Loule, at an apartment in Vila Sol near Vilamoura. I spend most mornings scanning the horizon for flocks of pigeons and it's always lacking. Hopefully you can change that!!!! Enjoy the banter mate. Lee
  22. I got 15 back from last weeks race, 1 injured, so sending the other 14.
  23. One of my late returning young birds from yesterday has collided with wires i think and has a hole in one side of it's chest, where the water is just running out. what should i do? do i stitch it up and hope for the best, or glue it or what? this is the first time this has happened to me so any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance Lee
  24. I was missing three. Two of them are sat waiting on the loft, one with a damaged leg. It was my first ever race, got 15 back from 16. Hope they work back for everyone. Lee
