  1. signed. good luck to all
  2. I saw the exact same thing a few months back on the M65 motorway - dead starlings all over the carriageway, police were on the scene. it wasnt far from some pylons and wires that i figured it was just an electricity surge but you never know
  3. well, just to balance the argument out, I've ordered stuff from them a few times and never had any problems until the last time. Ordered through the internet, and some items came but some didnt. No explanation why some were missing but no refund either. It was only £8 or so i think, but still??? Prior to that they had been great, everything arrived in one piece and within a few days. Lee
  4. It sounds like he is living somewhere else when he isnt at your loft mate, either keep him in for a while with a new mate and rear some young birds which might bond him to your loft, or move on and get some new birds this year. If you reduce his food to try to get him to bond he is likely to go back to where he has been getting food when he isnt at your loft Lee
  5. agree with all the above, Sue is a top bird herself ( no offence Sue ) Lee
  6. speechless and humbled
  7. not yet mate, they are still against the wall in my dining room!!! when they are in place i will post some pics but it might be a few weeks. you can see them on the petron website though
  8. they are smart - infact the boxes came with a free dvd about petron and they themselves use boxes like the hermes ones!
  9. I just thought I'd post about my new acquisitions! after trying to decide what nestboxes to buy over the last month, after a visit to Blackpool, I decided to buy some petron up and over boxes, 3 sets of 3. I ordered them on monday and they were delivered yesterday. They look great, and i cant wait to get them installed and get the birds into them. A good proportion of the boxes are plastic so they should clean up well after the breeding season. I would recommend them to anyone, the service was good too and very quick! Lee

    blackpool chit chat

i liked the look of those tumblers but agree, far too many in such a small space, presumably for at least two days :-/
  11. think you might be right
  12. last time i went to blackpool was 2 years ago and there seemed to be alot more birds that i wanted back then. is it that there were fewer birds there today or have i just raised my standards with experience???
  13. i got myself some bits and bobs, like grit, clip rings, nest felts and tobacco stalks, was on the look out for a nice pair of birds but nothing caught my eye, except some small tumblers - but i resisted! Lee
  14. Thanks for that
  15. they look great! what do you do with them/how do you use them????? i genuinely dont know Lee
  16. very sorry to hear the news Jimmy, you're a top man and your birds will grace any loft. Still have my 6 YBs from you from last year here, and they will be breeding my team of yearlings for 2012, I will keep you updated as to their progress! All the best mate Lee
  17. i agree totally, dont blame the dog or the breed but the owner. I know things like this happen all the time, but the video distressed me quite a bit, and i feel so sorry for the blind person and the guide dog
  18. just seen a video on sky news of an idiot with a pitbull type dog who lets his dog attack a guide dog being walked presumably by it's blind owner. the pitbull rags the labrador round getting dragged by the pitbull's owner who punches and kicks his own dog, even taking a run up to launch a kick at the pitbull. Now i know it takes some force to get a pitbull off another dog, but surely this total **** should know that and keep it under control. I know this isnt pigeon related but i know there are alot of dog owners on here who need to be warned about complete idiots like this
  19. PM sent in response to your PM

  22. Welcome to the site Tom, all the best for next season Lee
  23. i went to see Gary some weeks ago with half a dozen late breds i bought in. He did crop swabs there and then and showed me what he saw on the microscope and explained everything - he was very good. I left droppings with him and had results within a few days. I would definitely recommend him. economical too, cant remeber exact prices but for crop swabs and droppings for 6 birds he chrged me about 25 quid.
  24. i seem to recall someone saying that this needs reporting to Defra if discovered in your loft so that could explain why people would be reluctant to openly admit having birds suffering from it, i maybe wrong. also some people may not notice what it is, they notice a sickly looking bird and immediately dispose of it before the tell tale signs become too obvious Lee
  25. Micko was after some for his grandson Jack mate
