me and the missus will be at a wedding in Lampeter on saturday/sunday and will be driving north up the M6 to Preston sunday night so I could do it. BUT someone would have to get the bird to me at the hotel or very nearby cos there's no way the missus will let me drive around wales trying to find a stray bird!!! Lee

My first ever loft has arrived so i have started moving the birds into it. I have a pair rearing 14 day old YBs which are all confined to their nestbox due to where they've been housed whilst waiting for the loft to arrive. the box is one of a set of three that i want to move into the loft. if i move the boxes and keep these four contained will the parents carry on rearing them or are they likely to be too unsettled? any views appreciated Lee

it's true that accidents happen, when i started up i fed the birds in the morning, went to work forgetting to lock the door behind me. Wind blew the door open and my dog got in, when i got home i had one bird left!!! all the others dead, the dog was so proud of his 'good' work! the oe bird is still traumatised 2 years later Lee

instead of the money, why not ask the owner to hand over the cat and watch if he wants to while you give the cat a dunk in a water butt outside the loft. the cat will associate the loft with the dunking and the owner will know you arent going to take matters into your own hands. Dont forget, if this cat disappears in mysterious circumstances, what's stopping the owner going out and buying 5 more to annoy you??? Just a thought mate All the best Lee
